NWA World Heavyweight Title: Harley Race © vs. Ted DiBiase (10/31/83) God damn do I love Galaxy Express which was the NWA champion theme song. DiBiase's robe says ITALIAN STALLION on the back and that's awesome. We miss some of the beginning but it doesn't look like much maybe the first couple of minutes. Race breaks out his piledrivers early but DiBiase kicks out and DiBiase would eventually send Race to the floor by ramming his shoulder into the ringpost then countered a Race piledriver with a backdrop on the floor. DiBiase continued his offensive brigade in the ring where he would get his own piledriver on Race for a nearfall. Race would hit a cross body block though that would give him a chance for some offense but that didn't last long as DiBiase would lock on a sleeper with Race sending both of them to the floor with his momentum. Race would then hit a brainbuster on the floor before missing a diving headbutt but he had enough in him to post DiBiase as he started to pound on him. DiBiase would counter a suplex from the apron for a nearfall and gave him another chance to work over Race throwing some great punches with the black glove on no less before going for the figure-four. Race got to the ropes to save himself but DiBiase would continue to work over the right leg but Race would send DiBiase over the top rope as he used a spinning toehold giving him a chance to regroup. DiBiase was pesky though hitting his powerslam before going for the figure-four again but this time Race locked him up in an inside cradle to retain his title. This was a really solid match worked well although not much heat which between two gaijin isn't strange but I think it deserves a nomination.
