Dory started off trying to wrestle a restrained, technical segment but whenever Terry and Choshu got near one another, chaos and brawling busted out. Terry ended up on the wrong end of a few signature double teams and had to fight through Choshu's attempted scorpion. But when Yatsu tagged in, he landed a few headbutts to the knee to take the advantage. That proved to be an important turning point because Dory was able to target the knee with his spinning toe hold. Terry also got to land some of his great jabs on Choshu. For the finish, Dory had Yatsu in the toe hold until Choshu ran in and decked him with a lariat. Riki lined up another one, but Terry grabbed his brother from the apron and pulled him outside. Then, Choshu hit Terry with lariat and they both tumbled to the floor. The Funks held on to Choshu for dear life until the ref counted everyone out. I still felt these teams had a better match in them, but between the Terry/Choshu animosity, the targeting of Yatsu's leg and the general wildness, they did enough for a nomination.

Riki Choshu/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Terry Funk/Dory Funk, 12/12/86 (TV 26)

- They tried to keep it technical early but Terry wanted to mix it up on the outside. Weh n Terry gets back in the ring after some Dory moments, Choshu screws with him by tossing himi out of the ring a few times. I like how Yatsu tried to rub it in Terry’s face by applying the spinning toe hold leading to Choshu applying the Scorpion. Damn, Terry is making this match. Whether it is his selling or him punching Choshu in the face. Great sequence with Choshu tossing Terry out again, Terry swinging at Yatsu outside and getting caught in a back suplex on the outside. I think the end run was better in theory than in execution but it just came off a little awkward. Still, this was the most fun I have had watching a match today. I’ll back the nomination.

Real World Tag League: Dory & Terry Funk vs. Riki Choshu & Yoshiaki Yatsu (12/12/86)

Choshu & Terry want to brawl with each other as soon as they get in the ring and they get their chance early when Choshu cheapshots him in the corner and Terry comes in to take him to the floor for a brawl. Terry is finally looking like the Terry from the Hansen/Brody matches as he is awesome in every way here with Choshu & Yatsu being great foils. Dory & Yatsu are fine in their roles here as supporting players to the madness that is Terry & Choshu and even though there was a cheap finish this moves forward easily. I do agree though that there could've been an even better match between these teams but this was just fine.
