Posted July 4, 201015 yr comment_5452716 I never get tired of watching these guys brawl. Hansen tried to kick Terry's ribs in, and Terry retaliated with flurries of great punches. Terry took a wild bump to the floor, then rallied with more great punches. Back in the ring, he ducked a lariat and leveled Hansen with chairshots to get disqualified. As usual with these guys, the post-match had as much action as the match itself. Terry crotched himself after Dibiase knocked him off the top turnbuckle. He ate a lariat on the floor and had to endure some bullrope choking until Dory saved him. The dead crowd hurt this, and I won't go to the wall for it. But I know you guys love this match-up as well, so you should at least watch it 1986 All Japan TV Disc 26
September 18, 201015 yr comment_5455887 Stan Hansen vs. Terry Funk, 12/29/86 (TV26) - Damn, these two don’t waste any time. Gotta love how Terry gets tangled in the ropes, kicked off the ring by Stan, Stan goes to hit the outside lariat but Terry hops the rail to prevent that from happening. Beautiful. Oh Christ, Terry holding on while Stan was just kicking him relentlessly to get off the apron was great. It seems like Stan is afraid to engage with Terry on the outside so he keeps attacking him outside. The ending sort of sucked but this match was too fun not to move forward. I could see it getting cut in the end but I’ll endorse it for now. It may have needed more blood and guts to guarantee a spot on the set though.
October 6, 201014 yr comment_5456875 Stan "The Lariat" Hansen vs. Terry Funk (12/3/86) They start clubberin at the bell and Hansen wants to finish Terry off early with a lariat on the floor but he climbed over the railing and into the fans to escape. Hansen was just beating Terry's ass here with all kinds of strikes and even backdropped him over the top rope to the floor to almost no response from the crowd. Terry would fight back using a steel chair along with throwing down Joe Higuchi for the DQ. DiBiase would then come out to double up on Terry after the match and they choked Terry with the bullrope until Dory made the save. I love this matchup and this was fun but it was too short and wasn't on the level of their previous matches so I think this isn't a nomination.
