Posted July 4, 201015 yr comment_5452719 Martel and Zenk showed some real professionalism by making Wajima, who sucked, look like the sensation he was supposed to be. Martel started on the mat with him and boy did he look slick as hell. Then Zenk bounced around like crazy to put over Wajima's higher-impact moves at the end. Meanwhile, Martel and Zenk got in some nifty double teams on Baba to set up Wajima as the hot tag. I don't think this match would make a big impression on the set, because the voters won't have seen the truly dreadful Wajima matches. But I kind of want you guys to take a look anyway, because it was a performance that really impressed me in context. 1986 All Japan TV Disc 25
July 5, 201015 yr comment_5452726 Giant Baba & Hiroshi Wajima vs. The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) (12/12/86) Oh boy Wajima, this should be something. This was one of the better Wajima matches thanks to his opponents but there are better matches I've seen that I didn't nominate. Context or no context, this isn't a nomination.
September 22, 201015 yr comment_5456091 Hiroshi Wajima/Giant Baba vs. Rick Martel/Tom Zenk, 12/12/86 (TV 25) - I had fun watching this and seeing the Can-Ams execute their offense on these two awkwardly shaped old men. The crowd loved this and Wajima executes a Rock Bottom on Zenk. Fun stuff but I would not fight to put this on the set.
