Posted July 5, 201015 yr comment_5452748 DVD #1 1/3/87 1. Giant Baba/HiroshiWajima vs. The Mod Squad - NWA match. 2. Battle Royal - NWA match. 3. The Destroyer/Mark Ragin vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Genichiro Tenryu - Don't know if Ragin was a Destroyer trainee or what but he spent most of the match trying to put weak-ass armlocks on Jumbo and Tenryu. Finally, they put him out of his misery. 4. Riki Choshu/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Nelson Royal/Curt Henning - By-the-numbers Choshu tag in which Royal and Henning got some offense in on Yatsu until Riki got tired of being out there and took it home with a lariat. 5. Hiroshi Wajima/Takashi Ishikawa vs. Tiger Jeet Singh/A. Sheik (Jerry Stubbs) - Reviewed on Classics. 6. Battle Royal -I never like these. Tiger Mask won. 1/10/87 (taped 1/10) 1. Animal Hamaguchi/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Genichiro Tenryu (13:12 complete) - Jumbo and Hamaguchi had good chemistry on the mat which, I guess shouldn't be surprising from two Olympic wrestlers. But this match remained stuck in second gear, with no one really seeming in peril or trying to do anything interesting. I watched it this morning and already, I'm struggling to recall specifics. No vote. 2. Riki Choshu vs. Ashura Hara (8:27 complete) - Hara actually controlled most of the match. His offense was almost the same as Choshu's so it was sort of amusing to watch Riki fight through the scorpion and eat lariats. Finally, he got tired of it and hit two straight backdrop suplexes before finishing Hara with the lariat. This never got nasty enough to stand out from the pack. 3. Giant Baba/Hiroshi Wajima vs. Tiger Jeet Singh/A. Sheik (7:54 complete) - Reviewed on Classics.
