Posted July 15, 201015 yr comment_5453159 DVD #26 12/14/88 (taped 12/10/88 ) Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Toshiaki Kawada (21:06 complete) - Tenryu walked across the ring and smacked Jumbo in the chest before the bell. Then Kawada announced his presence with a thunderous spin kick to Yatsu's jaw and a German suplex for a two count. The match seemed ready to take off when Jumbo destroyed Tenryu on the outside and Yatsu went after Kawada's leg. But they didn't go far enough with either absent Tenryu or hobbled Kawada. The finish saw Tenryu and Jumbo brawling outside again. Kawada tried to dive on Jumbo but came up badly short and basically had to redo the spot. He then held onto Jumbo's leg for dear life as Tenryu ducked in to win by countout. This started out with a lot of promise but never quite came together as a high-end match. No vote. 12/18/88 (taped 12/16/88 ) Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Abby/Singh (9:30 complete) - Abby and Singh tried to turn this into a messy, brawling match. At least the crowd popped whenever Jumbo sent them scrambling with high knees. The countout finish was no surprise. This lacked the sustained craziness to push it into nomination territory.
