Posted July 18, 201015 yr comment_5453259 Tenryu and Hara tried to jump Jumbo and Wajima at the bell, but it backfired, as Jumbo outfought Tenryu and handed him over to Wajima, who went nuts trying to bust him open with headbutts. Tenryu finally crawled over to tag Hara, who took Wajima outside and busted him over the head with the ring bell. Hara and Tenryu followed with some brutal, brutal lariats on Wajima. After a few minutes, Jumbo made the hot tag, but Tenryu quickly delivered his comeuppance as well with a flurry of hard chair shots. Wajima had another great exchange with Tenryu near the end, as they blocked one another's moves until Wajima took him down for a second round of headbutts on the cut. The match ended with everybody brawling at ringside. I've been a Wajima skeptic, but I have to say, he learned to work with a lot of passion, if not skill. The hate between him and Tenryu really set this one apart, though everyone was good. Solid nomination. 1988 All Japan TV Disc 3
September 22, 201015 yr comment_5456094 Jumbo Tsuruta/Hiroshi Wajima vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara, 1/24/88 (TV 3) (1/30/88) - Damn, Tenryu is attacked before he gets his jacket off. Jumbo and Wajima attack GT’s cut. Oh Christ, Wajima won’t stop with the headbutts. Of course, attacking the cut is the coolest thing ever in wrestling. Damn, these lariats look real shooty but also sorta sloppy. With Tenryu, you can forgive it because he just received 30 freaking headbutts. The Hara lariat just looked sloppy. Hara uses plunder on the outside to swing the momentum and now Hara is worse for the wear. The running corner lariat may be another move people get tired of before the set is over. Unlike previous tags, I really like the fact that they are allowing real heat segments with Tenryu earlier and now Wajima. So when Jumbo comes in and cleans house, it feels like a real accomplishment. Great strategy with Tenryu tossing Jumbo outside to get attacked by Hara and punishing him when he is thrown inside. When Jumbo finally gets the tag, it feels like an accomplishment. I also love the battle to block Wajima’s Rock Bottom. Another countout ending but damn was that some nonstop action. High Recommendation!!!
October 11, 201014 yr comment_5457121 Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. Jumbo Tsuruta & Hiroshi Wajima (1/24/88) Tenryu got his ass kicked before the bell and he kept getting beat on as the match was going along with Jumbo pounding him first then Wajima coming in and going nuts with headbutts trying to make Tenryu bleed buckets. Hara then came in and started attacking Wajima on the floor with a chair before tagging Tenryu back in who went on a rampage on Wajima just beating his ass. Hara would join in as well until Jumbo came back in where he would run wild before he would get dumped to the floor where Tenryu would throw him in the railing then attacked him with a chair. Jumbo then took more punishment before a desperation lariat got him the chance to tag in Wajima who wasn't the most inspiring hot tag ever and this led to some sloppyness. Wajima did recover though and had a really good exchange with Tenryu where he was taking everything then came back firing headbutts. They would go back to the floor for wild brawling and another double countout. This had a lot of solid action and this moves forward.
