Tenryu was the meanest fucker on the block (well, aside from Hansen anyway) so I appreciated Yatsu and Tenta just beating the fuck out of him for the first five minutes. The highlight was Tenta bulling into him on the apron and sending him crashing down into the guardrail. Your Hara/Tenryu retaliation was just as badass with Hara headbutting Tenta in the nose and both of them kicking him in the spine and kidneys. Then Tenta got out of trouble with a fucking dropkick! Seriously, that dude was awesome in All-Japan. They went back and forth for a few more minutes until Tenryu finished Tenta with a vertical suplex. This match ruled from beginning to end. Hara and Tenryu came off as the most vicious pricks in the world, Yatsu brought great fire and Tenta looked like a world-class big man. Nomination.

Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu/John Tenta, 2/29/88 (TV5)

- Early on, Tenta is a monster just crushing Tenryu at every opportunity. I appreciate the effort of Yatsu trying to do a backdrop driver out of a Tenta 2 handed choke lift. Didn’t really do it for me but the thought was there. Hara and Tenryu kicking the shit out of Yatsu never gets old. Not as nasty as I am accustomed to but nothing offensive either. Man, I need more Tenta. Hara’s headbutts taking him down looked nasty and I can appreciate Tenryu swinging him into the rails. I had fun watching this but I never understood what direction they wanted to take this in. They didn’t allow Tenta to be the monster. No one person got their ass kicked long enough to play native in peril. It just seemed like two teams trading moves back and forth with no one selling long enough to generate any heat. Not a bad match but nothing I would vote for.

Revolution (Ashura Hara & Genichiro Tenryu) vs. John Tenta & Yoshiaki Yatsu (2/29/88)

Tenta & Yatsu dominated early on with Tenta playing the monster. The chokelift into a backdrop driver wasn't executed well but it was a cool concept for a move. Revolution would finally take control on Yatsu of course and you would think that when Tenta would come in, he would get revenge but that didn't happen because they worked him over like they did Yatsu but Tenta would eventually hit a dropkick on Hara before he could tag in Yatsu. Yatsu came in fired up but again he would tag out to Tenta rather quickly who kept control even hitting another dropkick but also again Revolution would just go back in control and Tenryu just put him away with a vertical suplex which was impressive. Man this could've been so much better but the psychology here was completely stupid as Tenta just seemed like a giant version of Takashi Ishikawa basically. Not a nomination.
