Posted July 20, 201015 yr comment_5453359 Rematch of the previous day's carnival of violence. This one started at a faster pace with everyone hitting big moves in the first few minutes. Tenryu and Hara again tried to go after Jumbo's knee, but it didn't become a dominant theme this time. Instead, Jumbo fought through it and punished Tenryu for pinning him the day before. The end was just crazy. They all looked out on their feet, but they kept stumbling around and drilling each other. Hara finally threw himself on top of Tenryu to keep Jumbo from pinning his partner. So Jumbo just pinned both of them. Too much great action to describe in this one. I think people will be amazed at the violence these guys churned out on back-to-back days. Slam dunk redux. 1988 All Japan TV Disc 19
September 20, 201015 yr comment_5456036 Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu (25:18 complete) 9/11/88 (taped 8/30/88 ) - Man, the rematch. I can’t wait to see how Jumbo reacts to getting his ass handed to him in the last round. Jumbo’s ready to play. He slaps Tenryu so hard, he just slumps to the ground and is forced to regroup. When he does, he even kicks Jumbo to remind him what they did to his leg last match. Damn, Tenryu goes back to the leg. And damn they go to town on the leg. They even ram a table into his leg on the outside. Awesome. Yatsu has a big bruise on his cheek screaming “Kick Me!” so they do. Jumbo and Yatsu do a solid job of working over Hara and really trying to take him out. Hara and Tenryu make their comeback on the weaker opponent (Yatsu) but Jumbo is on a mission… destroying Tenryu on the outside. I love how they are countering and reacting to the counters based on the previous match. Huge finish with a strange ending. I liked this but not as much as the previous match. This would be more Top 30 than Top 20.

Just another awesome hate filled war between these two teams and another slam dunk nomination. The stretch run was simply awesome and a testament to these teams for having these type of matches in consecutive days.
