Hey bud, when you watch an entire show, you can post it in the tape discussion forum. When you list a disc, list what I wrote on the DVD. Once I start making a set, I need to be able to locate the DVDs so don't correct me if I gave a wrong date or show. We can fix those later.

 

If you watch a show and like a match, post the show and then copy and paste the matches you like into the Match Discussion forum. No need to post matches in Match Discussion that you don't feel they should be on the set.

 

When, you post matches in match discussion, make sure you tell me what DVD it is on in the topic description

 

Example:

RVD vs. Sabu (Stretcher Match) ( 6/6/96)

(Fancam 6/6/96) OR (Hardcore Heaven 96) OR whatever disc you are watching.

 

 

Be sure to indicate if a match is a low-level nomination, solid nomination or Strong/Easy nomination. That will help us when we are trying to cut the final list down.

I assume any relevant stipulations should be listed in parenthesis as they are above.

 

Also I'll probably watch the non-fan cam shows first to get those out of the way, and also because it's possible some of those matches made the SC list, whereas the fancams are going to be totally fresh for the most part. I'm going to cross reference with the SC list to make sure I don't rewatch anything that made the actual top hundred today so I'm ready to go when I get these tom. or thurs.

- MOTYC for 1998. These guys went old school, pulling out chains, fireballs, brass knux, powder and the chloroform. EASY NOMINATION

 

Dudleys vs. Dreamer & Raven

- The match sucked but Dreamer dropped twelve stories into a pit of thumbtacks and that should amke the Extras. EXTRA.

As of right now I'm almost exactly half way through what you've sent me. Fancams will probably take a bit longer to go through because there are only one or two matches out of this crop that made the SC top 100 (think there is a Taz v. Sabu match from the Halloween 97 show and I can't remember if the OMG v. Sabu match is on one of the 99 shows you sent me or not) so I'll be skipping over nothing. Still think 29 (well 28) discs in five days is a pretty solid pace and I'll try and maintain something close to that. I hope to have this batch of stuff done by next Sunday but I'm not certain that's going to happen. Trying to set a middle ground between being to liberal and to conservative with my nominating has been the hardest part so far.

I've kind of committed to at least three shows a day at this point. When you get a hold of the other stuff I'll be ready for it. In the interim I'll just finish up with the Fantastics/Windham's sets and after I pay for a new comp the TX Set.

Was hoping to be done today, but that didn't happen. I've got three more shows to go (four discs). Got a pretty busy work schedule this week but I still figure I'll be done late Weds night at the latest. After this first run I'll probably do a wrap up post with my general thoughts on things, the guys I've been most pleased with, and a sort of depth chart of the matches that I have nominated so far. I may also go through the 3 discs "best of 95" fancam set that JohnDust put together as it will only take a day or two to rewatch and there may be something on there worth nominating here (I recall a good Sabu v. Al Snow match that got no votes at SC and there was a Hack Myers v. Raven match that I liked at the time).

Well, you'll have a little time to relax because I have about 100 more Cams on the way. Also, what TV seasons have you seen and what have you not seen?

Pretty sure I have every episode of the old Eastern show and all of the HC TV through 97. After that the HC tv show gets really patchy to the point where I don't know what I do and don't have. I've seen a lot of the TNN shows through these fancams and also through things I've seen online but I have only a small amount on discs/tape and all of that is pretty random.

Ok the main thing is to make sure all bases are covered. If you need me to send you a tv season, I need to know.

There is no point in sending me any pre-98 HC TV. I've got it all and seen it all. 98-00? We are going for a complete picture here. I don't want to come across as greedy or just trolling for free shit. Having said that if you are willing and able 98-00 tv - both TNN and HC TV - deserves a complete overview. Since I can't tell you exactly what I do and don't have I may as well just watch it all. The stuff I"ve already seen I can just note as "previously viewed."

OK, it isn't trolling for free shit. Once I figure out a third wheel to send to, we'll make arrangements for you to trade or send to whoever that may be so we can put together the final list. I have no problem sending out freebies because I make it back in th long run

 

Anyway, if the ECW set is a success, we'll work on SMW next!!!

Let me know if you have anyone in mind as a potential third person. I'd definitely be down to do an SMW project if this works out well for you in the end and I expect people would be lining up to fill in the slots as viewers for such a set so I'm staking my claim now . May be harder to find someone else to complete the viewing for this project. ECW gets shit on so much at this point that it's hard to find people who are open-minded and/or willing enough to go through this much stuff. Despite my views on modern wrestling being diametrically opposed to his, Naylor would be someone who I know was a fan of ECW and would give it a fair shake though this might not be something he has the time or interest in doing.

Naylor was originally in the 80s project. Not good for these type of projects. If it is just you and I hashing out the final list, that will be good enough.

I'm fine either way. This is a bit different because SC list is what we are working with so it's not totally from scratch. I guess in some respects they are the "third person."

Finished with the first batch. 58 discs in 13 days. Not bad. Probably could have finished by Sunday if I had pushed myself but that would have ruined the fun. I'm going to do a sort of "wrap-up" post later tonight. If you have any comments or suggestions or things you'd like me to do with the second batch that I haven't done with the first let me know. I really prefer the non-sequential, grab bag way of viewing this stuff but that's an irritant to you I could do the second run in order. Let me know
