Yoshiaki Yatsu/John Tenta vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Toshiaki Kawada (13:54 complete) - This listing was the reason I pulled the disc out of my stack but it proved to be a disappointment. Yatsu and Tenryu were usually good for some fireworks but both seemed indifferent by their standards. I enjoyed Kawada playing David and Goliath with Tenta. But that was about it for the good stuff. Oh well. Jumbo Tsuruta/Great Kabuki vs. Dan Spivey/Doug Furnas (11:52 complete) - The crowd was into Furnas' flashy spots, and Jumbo did a nice job of putting over Spivey's power. But the match felt like nothing more than a minor showcase for new talent before Jumbo inevitably took it home. 10/16/88 (taped 10/12/88 ) Tiger Mask/Shinnichi Nakano vs. Rock and Roll Express (8:11 complete) - These teams did not fall into natural roles with one another. They just worked as roughly equal babyface units with a few nice spots from each side. Yoshiaki Yatsu/John Tenta vs. Abby/Greg Brown (6:46 of 9:12 aired) - Well, Tenta hoisted Abby in a bearhug and then they charged at each other like hippos. That was fun. Otherwise, the match didn't stand out. Jumbo Tsuruta/Hiroshi Wajima vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Samson Fuyuki (16:53 complete) - The people did not give a shit about Fuyuki, which was a problem, because his peril section and surprise nearfalls on Jumbo were supposed to be the highlights. Wajima looked pretty broken down by this point. Jumbo and Tenryu had their moments together but nothing to stand up to their best stuff. Yeah, this wasn't so great.
