Louie Spicolli vs. Devon Storm

This was pretty much an exhibition of moves. At one point Spicolli worked the leg but it went nowhere. Storm is pretty fun for flippy guys from this period and I like Spicolli but they both had much better matches in ECW.

Mikey Whipwreck vs. Little Guido

Kinda disappointing. You expect Whipwreck matches to be sort of sloppy but this was really loose and not the in reckless way that gives Mikey his charm. On the other hand there are two insane bumps in this - one from Big Guido of all people and another from Mikey who airballs on a dive attempt onto him and ends up careening into a pile of chairs. Not bad, but should have been a lot better.

Big Dick & Buh Buh Dudley vs. Axl Rotten & D-Von Dudley

I'm nominating this because of Bubba. I hate him as much as the next guy at this point, but he was absolutely awesome in this. At it's best ECW was a promotion with uber hot crowds, wild brawling, big bumps, crazy dives and goofily charismatic personalities and all of that is on display here. The camera work is almost exclusively focused on the Bubba and D-Von pair which is good because Axl and Big Dick suck, and also because the crowd was really on fire for those two. There are two big table spots here that are met with huge pops, a crazy bump by D-Von over a stack of tables by the stage, dueling chairs in the crowd, and a totally crazy dive from the top of the speaker on the top of the stage by Bubba that was as nutty a spot as I've ever seen in wrestling given his size. Everything Bubba did here fired up the crowd here and the post match with Bubba throwing shit on D-Von who was trying to escape through the crowd was really good too. Not something that HAS to be the on the set, but it's a really entertaining one man show, and a perfect example of how unpredictable ECW is as no one could have predicted this would be so good. Low end nomination.

Brian Lee vs. Terry Gordy

If this had gone a couple of minutes longer I might have nominated it. The opening with Lee cutting off the Gordy rope run with a clothesline was cool and I actually liked the feel of this as it had a clash of the titans appeal to it. Still way too short to rate as it was just getting started when they went to the finish.

Rob Van Dam vs. Doug Furnas

Great match. I didn't rewatch it because it's a top ten match from the SC list.

Taz vs. Tommy Dreamer

This was better than I would have expected. Taz gets mean early, Dreamer comes back and actually tries to matwork Taz, they do some good stuff with Taz working over Dreamer's ribs and then a bunch of run-ins happen and we don't get a finish. Too bad.

Pitbull #2 & The Sandman vs. Raven & Shane Douglas (Double Dog Collar Match)

This kinda sucked. Sandman bled early and he had some funny sloppy drunk brawling spots but this went on too long and really was boring in parts.

The Gangstas vs. The Eliminators (Steel Cage Match)

Saturn probably did a half dozen cage dives in this - maybe more. Not a good match, but it was less tedious than I expected because of that.
