Balls Mahoney v. Lance Storm

Standard workrate match. Storm's spots look unimpressive even by the standards of that time and Balls isn't in prick mode so this never had a chance of being any good.

Ricky Morton v. Stevie Richards

Holy shit, Morton comes to the ring wearing Confederate flag tights with his "girlfriend" in toe who is clad in leather from top to bottom including assless chaps and a leather thong. He flips off the crowd pre-match. Richards comes in through the crowd with the BWO. Crowd starts a "show your tits" chant at Ricky's lady and Meanie pulls up his top to a big pop. Match is not as fun as the pre-match as it goes really short and everytime Ricky gains control with heel tactics Stevie gets an immediate comeback. Too bad. I really wanted this to be good enough to nominate.

Steve Williams v. Axl Rotten

Nothing match. Mostly notable for Axl kicking out of a quasi-Oklahoma Stampede which is some serious bullshit.

Steve Williams v. Raven

I liked this okay, but it really doesn't hold up as something you would go out of your way to see. Doc takes a couple of massive bumps and does some great teases of other big bumps in this. But this felt really rushed and despite Doc's best efforts Raven really doesn't bring enough offensively. The end result is Doc trying to get over the fact that he is in trouble, but Raven not delivering on his end to keep you convinced. I also hate the finish here with Williams hulking up out of two Stevie kicks, only to eat a third and a DDT for a finish.

D-Von Dudley v. Sandman

This was kinda fun because Sandman's sloppy brawling and beatdowns are always entertaining enough when kept short. Ultimately just a set up for the post match stuff with Bubba and The Gangstas.

Eliminators v. Sabu/Rob Van Dam

Boy this was a mess. I can be a fan of spotfest, but this was just a bunch of disjointed crap. Even the stuff that is supposed to look impressive doesn't look that impressive and while there were some cool car crash spots toward the very in, this is twenty minutes I'd like to have back.

Tommy Rich v. Terry Funk

Awesome match, made the SC top 100.

Chris Candido/Brian Lee/Shane Douglas v. Pitbulls/Tommy Dreamer

I actually liked the opening of this a lot with some pretty spirited brawling around ringside and Candido bumping like crazy. If they had stayed working like that I would have nominated this but as soon as it settled into a standard tag it lost a lot of it's flavor and really there are only so many ways these guys can work over Dreamer for ten minutes. I did enjoy the shoot headbutts from Candido though. Better than expected at least.
