Posted July 24, 201015 yr comment_5453525 I thought this was an absolutely incredible first time performance in the Arena from Corino. He was in full blown heel mode, slapping Chetti in the face, laughing at him every time he got an offensive advantage, et. At one point early he teases a plancha to the crowds approval then slides under the ropes and punches Chetti hard as fuck in the face. Then he walks over to hat guy and has them part teasing that he is going to throw Chetti into the crowd before turning and tossing him in the ring and then getting caught by a baseball slide and plancha from Chetti while he's taunting the crowd. Match is built around Corino controlling with basic offense and Chetti making mini-comebacks and it works well. Chetti typically has really unimpactful offense, but Corino really seems to be leaning into his kicks and Chetti actually unloads with some nice punches too. It's too low key to be a lock, but I'm going to nominate it.
August 5, 201015 yr comment_5454025 I thought Corino looked like a young Simpson brother here. The blonde hair and goatee work so much better. Anyway, you summed up the match and while not Corino's best match, this should go on the set. Plus, I don't remember seeing any chairs.
October 20, 201014 yr comment_5457422 Steve Corino vs. Chris Chetti (1/16/99) Corino makes his debut here and he is pretty awesome getting heat from the fans and making a Chetti match actually interesting at this time in his career. The crowd could care less to start the match which makes Corino's performance here so good because he brought them into the match acting like a complete shit. Both men were hitting hard here as well and I agree that this moves forward.
