Prodigy v. Nova

There were parts of this that were sloppy of fuck, but I have to admit this was perversely entertaining. Nova's thinly closeted Glam Rock outift is really funny and only slightly eclipsed by the Brian Knobbs look alike that is managing Prodigy who I don't recognize even though I think I should. The fans are all over this and really seem to love Nova. The unnamed manager takes a couple of insane crazy bumps into the guardrail and there were some mat sequences early that I liked a good bit. Fun opener despite some major flaws.

Hot Commodity v. Christian York/Joey Matthews (EXTRA)

This had it's "top this" elements, especially down the stretch, but by and large I thought this was a rock solid tag match for the level of talent that was present. The early comedy spots with Dinerio getting tired during a lengthy criss cross, and EZ Money getting his pants pulled down and taking a bump to the floor with his ass exposed were actually good comedy spots and were played well by all parties. I also liked that there was a real heat segment in this before the deluge of MOVEZ at the end. Better than I expected for sure.

Tajiri v. Super Crazy

They were off on a few spots and there was a weird moment where they aimlessly wandered around on the floor but these guys have a solid routine and there matches are always fun at minimum. Crazy actually looked really good doing a weeble wobble on the railing that came across really cool and I really liked the headfirst bump he took into the railing as well. Tajiri seemed a step off at times, but he had some really amusing interactions with the crowd as well.

Tommy Dreamer/Danny Doring v. FBI

This was a fairwell to the FBI so you knew you were going to get a mid-match dance off and comedy spots with the ref. You kind of hoped Mamaluke would take a dangerous bump or two, but I was fine with this being what it was and actually enjoyed it a fair amount as mid-card fare. So far this has been a very entertaining show.

Jack Victory v. C.W. Anderson (Falls Count Anywhere) (EXTRA)

This was the same deal as the night before with the match being set up by a needlessly long Lou E. Dangerously promo. This time Victory says he started his career in Mid-South and he's going to end it there. The big difference is that tonight they worked the match exactly how you wish they had worked it the night before with a shitload of nasty right hands and both guys just waffling each other with chairs, bell shots, and other plunder. Finish is basically identical. I'm going to toss this out there as a potential Extra.

Stan Lee v. Michael Shane

I discover that the guy with Prodigy earlier in the night was Stan Lee adn here is being awesome again, shit talking the fans, flying around the ring, screaming in agony, et. This is too quick to be much of anything, but Lee was pretty awesome.

Rhino v. Spike Dudley

I'm a big fan of Spike so it's not surprise that I liked this. Spike has a really unique way of making the size disparity in his matches play to his advantage offensively. I don't know why but I always buy his reckless chairshot barrages more than just about anyone else as it comes across like the nerdy kid in school having a nervous breakdown and rampaging on the jocks that tease him. As usual Spike bladed here, took a few massive bumps and I thought the pace of this was really well done. Rhino launching a lugee at a lady in the tenth row was pretty impressive. Perfect length and totally devoid of the overkill that often plagued ECW main events. I'll put it through.

Justin Credible v. Sandman

This was really two matches with Credible winning the first which was a "wrestling match" with interference from Francine and then Sandman cashing in on a favor Justin promised him to have a hardcore rematch on the spot. Both matches were pretty much you would expect. Credible and Sandman both brought the bumps and I thought it went reasonably well. Nothing you would go out of your way to see except for the fact that it was the last match in the history of the promotion.
