Posted July 28, 201015 yr comment_5453678 Prodigette v. Jazz This was too short to be anything and was capped off with a C.W. Anderson run in where he tagged Jazz with a left and hit Prodigette with a spinebuster. Danny Doring/Roadkill v. Hot Commodity This was okay. Some botched spots with Doring and Roadkill wasn't as fun as normal but Hamerick takes a fucking crazy bump so there is that. Da Baldies run-in and destroy Roadkill post-match. Mikey Whipwreck v. Little Guido Standard workrate sprint. Mikey was more crisp than I expected but I really don't like him in these sort of matches as he has the feel of a fish out of water. Christian York/Joey Matthews v. Simon Diamond/Johnny Swinger This was a mess. Nobodies offense looked good and these are guys who have nothing but offense for the most part. Rhino v. Nova This was pretty bad. I've really liked Rhino on these fancams up to this point but he's not capable of carrying someone like Nova. Lots of really poorly executed and highly choreographed stuff. Highlight was an early dive on Nova into the crowd. Mediocre at best. Justin Credible v. Chris Chetti Not good. Chetti was less appalling than usual and Francine was at her all time trashiest but the match was weak. Steve Corino v. Tajiri v. Jerry Lynn This was pretty disjointed and fairly sloppy. Tajiri and Corino were probably two of the top five guys in U.S. at this point but they seemed a bit off even in their interactions with each other and Lynn - though more tolerable here than he would be in later years - is a guy that you want working sprints not relatively lengthy matches that are built this way. Corino had GREAT matches with both of these guys individually this year but he was mauled in each of those and this was no mauling. There were isolated moments of decency here, but this really exposes the flaw in triple threat/three way dances and is maybe the most disappointing match I've watched so far. Scotty Anton v. Tommy Dreamer This flowed straight out of the three way dance before it and actually started fairly good. I liked Anton taunting the crowd with the American Males clap, the crowd brawling was fairly spirited and Dreamer took a nasty bump on a ladder to set up his blade. The real flaw here was in the second half of the match where they started to try and get cute and shit just ran off the rails with things looking really weak, overkill, excessive nearfalls, tons of run-ins, et. This is a good case for the Keep It Simple Stupid philosophy. Still probably the best match on the show so far which is a testament to how bad this show has been. Rob Van Dam v. Kid Kash This really is a great example of my theory that RVD should be a guy who's matches are built around his bumping and not his offense. With one or two minor exceptions, every time RVD is on offense the match falls apart into bullshit, the execution looks bad, et. When Kash is on offense RVD bumps well for him and Kash hit's his spots impressively and perfectly. In particular I liked Kash's double jump rana and his crowd dive. I also thought he sold the finish really well. Too bad a huge chunk of the match was RVD on offense. Half of a good match and half of a shit storm.
