Tajiri fucking pelting Calo with a kick off of a teased handshake after the initial exchange was really awesome. He's not someone who gets a lot of credit for his facial expressions but he is absolutely tremendous in that regard - literally among the best I've ever seen. Every highspot in this was awesome, from Calo's wipe out flip senton, to Tajiri's bridge out of a sunset flip into a back kick, to Tajiri's punt of a diving Calo. The finishing brainbuster was also nasty, tight and appropriately to the point. One of the better matches of it's kind that I've seen.
August 5, 201015 yr comment_5453954 Man, this completes one of the greatest 1-2-3 punches I have ever seen on a show and I am not even watching Tanaka-Awesome. Tajiri and Calo were just on in this one. Loved the mat stuff early on, loved the Tajiri kiks. Calo's modified DDT on the turnbuckle was sick and the clean finish all add up to another must have on the set. Also makes me want to start on a Tajiri comp.
August 5, 201015 yr Author comment_5453957 I've said it before and I'll say it again - Tajiri was a serious contender for best in the World at this point. I'm a lucha novice, but Calo is not a pimped guy in Lucha circles, and I've seen all of his pimped WCW matches - this is easily the best Calo match I've ever seen. I don't think it's a coincidence he had it with Tajiri.
October 25, 201014 yr comment_5457656 Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Super Calo (12/17/99) Another solid match on this show with both of these guys looking good especially Tajiri who was tremendous at this stage of his career. This moves forward easily.
