Tommy Rogers v. Robert Gibson

This is a novel little match on paper but Gibson's shittiness fucks it up. In general I like heel Gibson and I thought he was fine playing that role, but his outright refusal to bump or execute any offense that looks like it might hurt anyone hurts this match. Rogers tries and actually looks pretty good here, but there is only so much you can do with someone who won't even bump for your finisher.

Lance Storm v. Rex King

This match certainly has it's charm. I sort of loathe Storm, but this is Storm v. Rex King in a building that looks like a converted movie theatre. King comes out to sweet home Alabama and the crowd is so amped to see a decent looking highspot resulting in Storm go over the top rope that they wildly chant "E-C-Dub!" after a simple inside-outside clothesline bump. Storm's douchebaggery is on full display as he locks on a chinlock and brags about "beating him with a rest hold." He also throws one of the worst punches I've ever seen in this to set up the finish. King did a few cool things, but this was a pretty crappy, albeit novel, match.

Chris Candido v. Taz

This was okay. It was stocked to the brim with Candido antics which was nice, but it was worked exactly how you would expect them to work a sparsely populated show in rural Alabama and was done before it really got started.

Chris Chetti v. Shane Douglas

I liked the opening minute or two as Douglas really bumped around well for Chetti and made him look believable but this quickly went to shit when Chetti settled into shitty meaningless armwork.

Masato Tanaka v. Tracy Smothers

The town of Ozark has banned cursing, chairshots and pretty much everything that makes ECW, ECW. That is except for the FBI. God Rich was awesome in this as he turned a rapidly xenophobic crowd that was chanting USA in the opening moments of the match totally against the FBI. Highlights were his mid-match denunciation of Bear Bryant that led to a fan getting thrown out and him getting on the mic and demanding the ejection of a fan who was cussing because he was a concerned "church member." Match was a pretty good basic match as well given the limitations. Easily the best match on the show so far which isn't saying much but man alive were the FBI awesome.

Rob Van Dam v. One Man Gang

I really wanted to like this. Gangs taunting of the crowd and Van Dam was cool and I liked his bumping. But this match went to long in front of a dead crowd. They got lost several times and the finish was horrid.

Sabu v. Mikey Whipwreck

This is easily the worst match between these two I've ever seen. Really sloppy and uninspired effort from Mikey and Sabu is not a guy who can cover up for someone elses sloppiness. Easily the most violent match on the show FWIW.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. Bubba Dudley

Ten minutes of Dudley mic work and a Bubba roll up for the win. At this point these guys are just fucking around.

Justin Credible v. Tommy Dreamer (Extreme Death Match)

Credible and Tommy actually worked hard but this devolved into the inevitable clusterfuck with everyone running out and somehow Spike "beat" Sal e? Awful show that went on forever.
