DVD #23

10/24/87

1. Hiroshi Wajima/Takashi Ishikawa vs. Tiger Jeet Singh/Weingroff (12:38 complete) - I don't fast forward often, but I did to get through this one.

2. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Tiger Mask/Shinnichi Nakano (18:56 complete) - I did not expect Misawa and Nakano to spend most of this match on offense, but they did. I enjoyed Nakano's nearfalls on Tenryu to set up the finish. But overall, the underdog challenge didn't take on the kind of momentum with the crowd that it would have needed for a nomination.

3. Road Warriors vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/John Tenta (5:38 complete) - The Warriors worked more evenly than usual, but the finish with them and Tenta came off really awkwardly.

1. Jumbo Tsuruta/Tiger Mask/Giant Baba vs. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara/Toshiaki Kawada (6:25 shown) - What was shown seemed really fun, with Kawada showing great fire in going after higher ranked guys and then paying the price. But we really only got the finishing run, so it's hard to judge.

2. Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Hiroshi Wajima (27:19 complete) - This took awhile to get going. Wajima tweaked his knee on a suplex attempt and it seemed that would set up the key story. But Tenryu and Hara really didn't go after the injury with any consistency. Jumbo actually handled the majority of the in-peril segments. They just kept meandering along and went to a double countout finish. Ughh! Not a fun way to spend 27 minutes after midnight.
