Posted August 5, 201015 yr comment_5453996 Hara blasted Jumbo with a short lariat early and Jumbo responded with a Hammer-of-the-Gods lariat that about put Hara through the mat. Shit was on from there. I loved Footloose's early attempts to chop down Jumbo and Jumbo's angry reprisals. His twin high knees on Fuyuki made me gasp. I loved Fuyuki's stretch as the whipping boy and the fact that Footloose was actually able to stagger Jumbo with their double team moves down the stretch. There were a ton of holy shit blows, the crowd got way into it, they went to a clean finish. Basically, this match ruled. Nomination. 1988 All Japan TV Disc 7

Hard for me to come to grips with the fact that Kawada played the role of Kikuchi for his first few years. Team Jumbo really take it to Fuyuki early on. When Hara gets tagged in, he doesn’t fare much better. However, what you find out about Footloose and Team Tenryu is that they may not be the more dominant wrestlers but they are better as a team. After a fight on the outside, Fuyuki finds himself getting his ass kicked. The best matchup seems to be Fuyuki-Kabuki. Really fun match with nonstop action. The finish with Kawada drilling Fuyuki with a missile dropkick was fine. It won’t rank high for me but was a solid mid-level match. I am slightly disappointed as a whole because of elevated expectations.
October 11, 201014 yr comment_5457132 Revolution (Samson Fuyuki, Ashura Hara, & Toshiaki Kawada) vs. The Great Kabuki, Takashi Ishikawa, & Jumbo Tsuruta (3/11/88) Okay, Revolution coming out to Dreams from Van Halen is FUCKING AWESOME and that alone might warrant a nomination. This had some really fun action including the lariat battle between Jumbo & Hara, the crowd being hot for Revolution working over Jumbo, Jumbo & Hara just pounding each other, Ishikawa getting revenge on Footloose for taking his All-Asian Tag Titles and them taking it to him, Jumbo just killing Fuyuki but Fuyuki fights back leading to a hot stretch run where Kawada nuked Fuyuki by accident with a missile dropick and Kabuki getting the pin. This was a blast as it was a total sprint at Korakuen which always helps and this is a nomination.
