DVD #22

10/23/88 (taped 10/17/88 )

Rock and Roll Express vs. Takashi Ishikawa/Mighty Inoue (5:55 of 11:13 aired) - Big clip from this one, but I wasn't a fan of the finish anyway. More bland face vs. face stuff between Morton and Gibson and the cruiserweights.

Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Tiger Mask/Akira Taue (14:09 complete) - Very similar in structure to the other matches between these teams, with Taue taking a lot of punishment and Misawa dominating the match in spurts. I enjoyed the one I nominated more, because the Taue beatdown seemed more intense and Misawa did more innovative stuff. But I enjoyed the match-up each time.

Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Stan Hansen (15:00 complete) - Reviewed on Classics.

10/30/88 (taped 10/26/88 )

Great Kabuki/John Tenta vs. Dan Spivey/Doug Furnas (5:35 of 12:21 aired) - No magic here, though I love the Kabuki/Tenta team in theory..

Genichiro Tenryu/Ashura Hara vs. Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu (13:50 of 18:34 aired) - This featured some quality violence between Jumbo and Tenryu but nothing I haven't seen in the context of better matches. Given the five-minute clip, the abundance of matches between these teams and the shitty DQ ending, it doesn't deserve further consideration.

Rock and Roll Express vs. Stan Hansen/Dan Kroffat (11:16 complete) - Reviewed on Classics.
