Stan Hansen/Terry Gordy vs. Abby/Tiger Jeet Singh (14:31 aired) - Again, it was good to see Abby and Singh have to deal with someone as crazy and rule averse as them. The crowd seemed pumped to watch Hansen punish Singh. But the brawling never reached the intensity of the best Abby and Hansen stuff. No need to revisit this one. Jumbo Tsuruta/Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Dan Spivey/Johnny Ace (13:27 complete) - Dull most of the way and comically bad at points. Ace whiffed a lariat off the top, and the normally reliable Yatsu caught his foot on the top rope while attempting an enzuigiri. The crowd actually laughed at him. 12/11/88 (taped 12/10/88 ) Tommy Rich/Dick Slater vs. Tiger Mask/Jimmy Snuka (12:54 complete) - Rich and Slater heeled it up more than in previous matches. I'm not sure they quite knew how to take Misawa's offense, and Snuka looked shot. Solid match but one without a lot of memorable moments. Giant Baba/Rusher Kimura vs. Abby/Tiger Jeet Singh (12:17 aired) - Abby and Singh really focused on Kimura, and the drama came from Baba's attempts to restore justice. The crowd was into it because they loved Baba, and his postmatch brawl with Abby was pretty wild. But again, we have better stuff involving those two. Hiroshi Wajima/Great Kabuki vs. Stan Hansen/Terry Gordy (8:01 complete) Aside from a brief rally by Wajima, Hansen and Gordy dominated. Another nice lariat from Hansen for the finish but not a memorable match.
