Hansen jumps Baba before the intros so the fans throw their streamers anyway as Hansen is kicking ass which was great. Hansen's selling for Baba was always fun considering he rarely sold for anyone else as he took a Baba chop then rolled all over the ring to the floor and over the guard railing. Baba then went to war on Hansen's left arm which is the lariat arm by using armbars and jujigatames trying to take away Hansen's main weapon. They would botch a Baba neckbreaker drop allowing Hansen to go back on the offensive mainly with one arm before they took it to the floor where Hansen tried to give Baba a lariat but he hit all ringpost giving Baba the opening he needed to go back to work on the arm. Baba would hit a big boot on Hansen which would see Hansen getting his left arm caught in the ropes and Baba going off on Hansen not relenting until Higuchi would call for the DQ. This was a blast with both men going pretty balls out here in their roles especially Hansen who was really selling here and even with the shitty finish this moves forward easily.
August 16, 201015 yr comment_5454542 It's important to note that the Samurai version of this is more complete than the G+, so we woudl use that one despite the lesser VQ. As for the match, these guys were never bad against each other. Baba came out to a huge ovation only for Stan to jump him before the streamers could even settle. Baba logically fought back by weakening the lariat arm. Hansen did a nice job of putting over the arm attack, building his comeback on kicks and righty strikes. I didn't have a problem with the concept of the finish, but Baba's strikes to Hansen's shoulder looked like friendly pats rather than the blows of an enraged giant. I'm usually not bothered by that kind of thing from Baba, but in this case, it did take me out of the ending a bit. We'll have to compare all of the nominated matches from these guys, because they tended to work a fairly similar formula, and we might not want them all. But I second the nomination for now.
November 21, 201014 yr comment_5458509 The atmosphere early on was a blast. Hansen killing Baba in the corner, falling out of the ring and knocking over the guard rail. Baba working over the Lariat arm is good stuff... especially the arm bar where Hansen sells for the boss. I don't know man... this was hella fun. I didn't even mind the finsih because it was Baba being the aggressor on the poor defenseless Hansen! THese type of matches are right up my alley so I back the nomination!!!
