D-Von Dudley v. Al Snow

Fast paced match with Snow's music playing the whole time. This was not bad really and was actually a fairly hot opener.

FBI v. Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney/The Sandman

Pre-match Tommy Rich says he's the new President of Italy and he wants to wrestle so Axl gets on the mic and the end result is Sandman being introduced as the partner of Balls and Axl. Then Sandman spits beer at Rich which he sells like a chairshot. First segment is all Rich dodging and weaving cane shots which is a shockingly solid segment. Guido and Axl don't seem like a pairing that would work out but they really do here for the second match in a row. Balls and Tracy work some nice exchanges before Balls wipes out over the ropes and Rich drops him on the guardrail. Then things get really awesome as the FBI work a straight up quality heat building segment on Balls who is quite adept at the FIP role for a guy with his look and size. Lots of good teases and cutoffs. Hot tag delivers a real quick fall for the babyfaces but this is what tag wrestling should look like. Low level nomination.

Bobby Duncam Jr. v. Roadkill

This was a decent enough heavyweight slugfest with a couple of big bumps from each guy, but it really seemed like this would have been a lot better with the roles reversed. Duncam makes a very strange face and that really hurt this one.

Mikey Whipwreck v. Justin Credible

This was a tale of two matches. The opening segment was pretty great as Credible is at his best when pinballing and Mikey was really having a great night offensively as he was hitting everything brutally and effectively including, kicks, punches, chops, a dive over the guardrail and a real cool ringpost assisted huracanrana on the floor. Then Justin went on offense and while the match didn't get bad it got really boring. Credible is just really weak offensively and it badly hurt this, though I continue to be impressed by Mikey.

Lance Storm/Chris Candido v. Chris Chetti/Jerry Lynn

The opening exchange with Chetti and Storm is laughably bad with Storm working as loose as I've ever seen any wrestler work and Chetti forgetting how to get up for a basic side slam. Candido comes in and does his best to make this watchable with his taunting, bumping and antics, but this just goes on to fucking long and no one is buying it.

Doug Furnas v. Rob Van Dam

Jesus Christ this was a fucking horrible match. There are parts in this where Van Dam is literally hopping around waiting for Furnas to get into place for spots. They botch a bunch of shit, nothing looks good, ugh. Total pile of shit.

Spike Dudley v. Bubba Dudley

God damn this match. I mean this was a really fucking great performance from Spike and a pretty darn good one from Bubba. Bubba is just killing Spike with these big slams and imactful offense, busting him open and just tearing into him. Spike's blade job looks sick and his wild comeback with the dive on the floor was really cool. Loved Spike's flurries and the cutoff spot with Bubba murdering Spike with a powerbomb out of the corner when Spike was going for the "stand on big dude and dive into huracanrana" spot was really awesome. Then they sort of both the big turning point spot that is supposed to set up the false finish and New Jack, Kronus, et. run-in and this just turns into one of those segments. I'm really tempted to nominate it because of the early work being so fucking good, but the match doesn't even have a real finish.

Taz v. Bam Bam Bigelow

This is a tough call really. Taz doesn't sell shit in this but this is a clash of the titans match up I'm not really certain he should have. Bigelow has a nasty cut over his eye and Taz stiffs the shit out of it and Bammer sells it well throughout. This had a lot of intensity and the spot with Taz legit breaking a window with his face was pretty sweet. Still these guys had better matches.

Shane Douglas v. Tommy Dreamer v. Sabu

Pretty much your typical clusterfuck three way dance with goofy spots involving guys and several Sabu botches.
