Posted August 20, 201015 yr comment_5454705 Pre-match Tommy Rich says he's the new President of Italy and he wants to wrestle so Axl gets on the mic and the end result is Sandman being introduced as the partner of Balls and Axl. Then Sandman spits beer at Rich which he sells like a chairshot. First segment is all Rich dodging and weaving cane shots which is a shockingly solid segment. Guido and Axl don't seem like a pairing that would work out but they really do here for the second match in a row. Balls and Tracy work some nice exchanges before Balls wipes out over the ropes and Rich drops him on the guardrail. Then things get really awesome as the FBI work a straight up quality heat building segment on Balls who is quite adept at the FIP role for a guy with his look and size. Lots of good teases and cutoffs. Hot tag delivers a real quick fall for the babyfaces but this is what tag wrestling should look like. Low level nomination.
November 4, 201014 yr comment_5457976 FBI v. Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney/The Sandman Low End Nomination - FanCam 3-27-98 - Just gotta give props to the Rock N roll Over sticker on the chair. This had some good things going for it with the FBI in their normal roles and the crowd HOT for the faces. This was really just a showcase for the faces and wasn’t really a competitive match but the crowd sure was pleased with it. I can’t see this taking the spot of a more competitive match (like guido vs. Taz for instance) so I vote no. Really curious to see if the 2nd matchup is a spitting image of the 1st.
November 22, 201014 yr comment_5458548 Axl Rotten, Balls Mahoney, & The Sandman vs. The Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido, "Wildfire" Tommy Rich, & Tracy Smothers) (3/27/98) I love the FUCK ITALY signs in the crowd followed up by Rich declaring himself the newly appointed President of Italy. The fans chanting USA against the all-American FBI is awesome and then going apeshit when Sandman is announced as the partner then singing Enter Sandman was great. FBI schtick was great early as you had Rich duckin and dodgin the cane then Guido & Tracy dancing around as the fans just hated their guts. Balls does pretty good as the FIP here with FBI being solid getting the heat. The finish was abrupt but fun though as everyone used their weapon of choice to take out the FBI right after the hot tag. This was fun but I really could've used a good stretch run here to warrant a nomination so I'm going no sadly. FBI ruled here though.
