FBI v. Blue Meanie/Super Nova

Son of a bitch another awesome FBI match. This was just a glorious fucking sprint in front of a molten crowd. I'm not a fan of Nova at all, but his flurries of offense in this were really good and his twisting dive onto the FBI was fucking great. I also love Meanie teasing a dive on Rich and the FBI chasing Nova down and face planting him ringside to take over on the control segment. Guido was really good in this and Meanie's big splash that led to the teased finish before the Rich flagpole shot looked really sweet. This is short and a bit different from what you would expect from the FBI, but I would recommend it highly as a match that showcases several guys in a positive light.

Justin Credible v. Mikey Whipwreck

Mikey is on fire here beating Justin from pillar to post, destroying his leg with ringpost/chairshots, et. When Justin gets control on Mikey with a powerslam off the ropes, he beats the chit out of Mikey in a similar fashion ramming him into chairs multiple times which Mikey takes viciously while Jason shit talks on the mic. Mikey takes the inside out flip bump off of a lariat which is always a favorite of mine. Mikey's comeback is equally nasty here with some big bombs falling and then we get the friends of Credible run-in and finish. Hmm. These Mikey v. Credible matches have been good in different ways and are really tough to rate and compare. This one needs another set of eyes.

Axl Rotten/Balls Mahoney v. Bobby Duncam Jr./Doug Furnas

"That's a big boy right there - a big fag." You can always count on Axl to bring class to a match. In all honesty the opening segment with Duncam and Axl was pretty good basic stuff. When Furnas came in and had a solid exchange with Balls I figured this was setting up for a Balls FIP and then Axl ends up getting dumped on his fucking skull by Furnas which was awesome. They work over Axl, including some cool stuff from Duncam. The heat segment was quick and when Balls comes in you think it's over then he gets dumped on his head...and then it pretty much is over as the freaks get their chairs and lay out the heels. Still this was fun while it lasted.

Roadkill/Danny Doring v. Spike Dudley/John Kronus

Spike is such a fun fiery babyface, flying everywhere early. Doring fucks up a spot ten seconds in. God he sucks. Match is really just there until Droz levels Spike with a kick at ringside and we go to the always quality Spike in Peril segment. The big problem here is that Spike's good selling and getting his ass kick is being wasted on a John Kronus hot tag that results in some really unfortunate offense. I did enjoy Spike's running flip on Droz though. Probably as good as it could have been really thanks entirely to Spike. New Jack's post-match beatdown of Droz is sort of uncomfortable given what happened to him.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. Rob Van Dam

Made SC Top 100

D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley v. Too Cold Scorpio/Sandman

They do a dance off and then there is this odd second that is really methodically paced and doesn't really establish much and really comes across like Sandman and Dudz fucking with the crowd. Scorp does some pretty cool shit working off the Dudz as props when he gets in the first go around that pick things up. Sandman comes back in and..well..Dudley's are considered great heels of this era by some but there is no fucking heat at all here and it really is telling. This one really falls apart down the stretch with Sandman looking like shit and the dudz looking lilke they don't care.

Jerry Lynn v. Sabu

The big spots in this were pretty wild and fun but this lacked any sort of flow at all. I also think the crowd was totally burnt out by this point. Bigelow v. RVD really should have main evented this show.

Al Snow v. Chris Candido

This is going to be the real challenge of this project as you have stuff like Credible v. Mikey and these Snow v. Candido matches that are very similar in many respects and happened on back to back nights and you don't want to nominate every god damned match but when there is parity there is parity. The opening of this was basically a replay of the night before and was just as good with Candido hitting all of his shit well in particular. I was really impressed with how well Candido and Snow engaged the crowd in this to as they were dead for the last two bouts, both of which had much bigger stars. Having said that I thought the second half of this was clearly worse than the night before with lots of "your turn, my turn" stuff and an underwhelming finish that came out of the blue.

After a long as fuck Taz/Douglas angle we get

Mikey Whipwreck/Tommy Dreamer v. Justin Credible/Jason

This was just strange. Guys getting hit with car doors and rolling down gigantic stair wells while Feinstein curses out fans and they botch a key heel v. face ref spot. Bizarre.
