Posted August 21, 201015 yr comment_5454755 I thought this was quite good. Axl is starting to stand out to me as a guy that really was pretty good at certain things. Here he was really great shit talking the crowd and getting them all riled up. Every time he would go on offense the viewer is drawn to that and you forget the fact that he really doesn't have many weapons and that's actually pretty smart work. I thought Spike's comeback nearfalls with the bulldog and victory roll were really well done and his ragdolling and selling were great. The over the top rope backdrop bump cutoff spot was sick and insane and the reverse brainbuster finish was definitive and surprising. I seriously didn't see Axl winning this one and I was nervous Spike was going to kick out of that one. When he didn't I actually popped. Good match.
December 15, 201014 yr comment_5460414 Axl Rotten vs. Spike Dudley (1/31/97) - Nice little shine start with Spike using his speed and flying to get the better of Axl. Weird middle as Axl never really fully gains control but kicks out of a bunch of big moves including the Dudley Dog. I thought the end clothesline looked weak but I appreciate the effort. I’ll pass on this one since the other one was so much better. No vote.
