Posted August 23, 201015 yr comment_5454849 Scott Hall v. Sal E. Graziano This was pretty surreal. Not only is this a fairly decent little match with build to the bodyslam and some good punches from Hall, but Hall jobs to fucking Sal E. Graziano. Hard to believe this ever happened. Mike Bell v. Michael Shane. Shane hit a nice hilo. The rest of this sucked. Hot Commodity v. Tajiri/Super Crazy/Mikey Whipwreck This was basically a stunt show, albeit a stunt show with a Hamerick backflip bump off of a superkick. Most notable for Hamerick getting the clean pinfall which led to... Super Crazy v. Tajiri They got into it after the aforementioned match so they ring the bell and they are off. This was actually fairly disappointing. It was still a decent match, but Crazy basically no sold a double stomp through a table and his heat section on Crazy didn't last long enough, though the table moonsault looked good. i did like the finish here as Mikey had been playing neutral all match and ended up blocking a Crazy moonsault attempt with a nasty looking Whippersnapper after Tajiri had accidentally misted the ref. Tom Marquez/Billy Wiles v. Danny Doring/Roadkill This is basically Roadkill and Doring beating the piss out of a five man squad of scrubs. Lots of silliness including a train of dudes fall onto themselves in sexually suggestive positions. Finish is a woman who wasn't even in the match getting pinned after a simulated rape. ECW at it's classiest. Post-mach the FBI come down and cut Doring's hair and Roadkill's beard which is just weird. Little Guido v. Nova This was alright I guess. These style of matches are really wearing on me at this point, though I did like Nova's dive onto Sal E. Steve Corino v. Jerry Lynn Pre-match for this is really great with Corino standing in Lynn's face and holding the belt up right in between their noses. Dawn Marie comes out which dropos the intensity a few notches and then Lynn starts whipping Corino with the belt and beating him from pillar to post. Corino comes back and gets his control segment in and this is just starting to get good when the evil ref comes out with a chair which Corino superkicks into his face. Then another ref goes down. Now Credible is out. Oh fuck this shit. Lynn gets taken out by the refs after a cane shot to the eye and Corino lays down an open challenge so Enter Sandman hits. Which leads to.. Sandman v. Steve Corino Pre-match tirade of Corino is fairly amusing as was Sandman casually caning him in the back when he leans over to lay the belt on the mat. Anyway I thought this was pretty good but not great. A lot of probably was really meandering in nature and while I liked all the stuff with the guardrail in the ring it seemed like they were running down a checklist of shit they wanted to do which made it less impressive/sick than it normally would have been. I did like the finish a good bit. Tommy Dreamer/Christian York/Joey Matthews v. Simon Diamond/Johnny Swinger/C.W. Anderson (Falls Count Anywhere) Dreamer ushering Anderson through the crowd isn't much in the way of good brawling though it does give a good look of the really large crowd which is funny considering they would be totally out of business almost two months to the day after this. This was clipped a bit presumably because the camera went dead in the middle of a teased spot with Anderson threatening to toss Dreamer off a balcony. I enjoyed C.W. in this and York and Matthews hit pretty nasty gushers. Gertner doing the Kamala gimmick was amusing. Eh this was kinda fun but nothing memorable. Kid Kash v. Rhino This was decent but not as fun as there other matches. I actually think this went too long as they seemed to have a sprint routine that worked out really well and made both guys look good. Still finish with the top rope piledriver looked pretty sick. Tony Devito v. Chilly Willy Short quick win for Willy. Scott Hall v. Justin Credible (EXTRA) This was pretty good. Hall's charisma really makes this match as he immediately connects with the crowd and they actually buy him as a sympathetic babyface after Credible's heat section. Just lets Hall beat him up and takes a real cool bump off of a hall punch through a table which was unexpected - a true rarity for ECW table bumps. I'm not sure I understand the logic of putting Hall over but the crowd went crazy for it and he had already jobbed for Sal E. of all people so Heyman got something out of it at least. Fun end to the show.
