Posted August 23, 201015 yr comment_5454860 Axl Rotten v. Cactus Jack (EXTRA) Man I really enjoyed this one. These guys worked a long ass opening of nothing but mat exchanges and criss cross spots and they all looked really good and were really fluid. Axl and Foley are both fucking with the crowd throughout and when they start chanting boring Foley grabs the mic and says everyone needs to phone Meltzer to report this as a five star match. Then Axl double crosses Foley and they brawl, with some nasty shots from Foley, a pretty sick Axl blade job and Foley taking a sick suplex bump on the floor. Finish is a quick DDT as a hope spot from Foley but it was effective. Way better than I expected. Too Cold Scorpio v. Marty Jannetty Opening matwork ending with Scorp digging his elbow into Scorp's face was pretty sweet. This turned into one of those matches where two guys were just doing the same spots or variations of spots to each other back and fourth. Jannetty took some crazy bumps on the floor and I thought this was solid enough, but it could have been a lot better. Sandman v. Marty Jannetty Jannetty just lost clean and now is working Sandman for the title which is sort of weird. This is another one that I really enjoyed. Both guys sold their legs throughout which was nice but what I really loved was Marty snapping and just going crazy on Sandman. You would expect Sandman to dominate the crowd brawling segment of this, but Marty immediately takes over and hurls Sandman onto a table before slamming another one on him and heading back to the ring fired up. Finish was Jannetty having Sandman down for the pin and Woman whacking him with a cane leading to a Sandman top rope legdrop for the pin. Good bout. Tommy Dreamer/Cactus Jack v. Steve Richards/Raven This was a solid tag match. Richards took his beating early and then they did an extended FIP on Foley which is always good because Foley can and will bump his ass off. I was really impressed with some of the double team heat getting moves the heels did. The ending sort of ran this off the rails with Beulah getting involved and Raven stealing the pinfall but this was good tag wrestling. Sandman v. Too Cold Scorpio I thought Scorp's big splashes and kicks looked really good in this but Sandman's offense seemed really off and the finish was pretty shitty and awkward looking. Public Enemy v. Pitbulls I have no clue what the fuck the stip was here but there was a strange ten count spot in the middle of this which resulted in the Pitbulls beating PE with baseball bats. Petty has become overrated over the years, but he was a lot of fun in this hitting his ranas, hitting a big table spot when the crowd brawling started, takign one of the nastier stairwell bumps I've ever seen, et. Overall this sorta sucked but Rocco was good.
