Lance Storm v. Spike Dudley

The Pearl Harbor springboard dropkick that starts this is pretty awesome, as is the teased acid drop into back suplex for a really good nearfall a few minutes later. Lance even takes a big bump here and Spike's dive looked pretty awesome. I have grown to hate the interference spots in ECW but Dawn Marie pushing Spike off the top rope to an epic bump while the ref was tending to Storm was a great way to transfer the sympathy back onto him. Storm then hits a triple power bomb that looked really good for the finish. Shame this didn't go longer because this was on the fast track to being an easy nom.

Antifaz del Norte v. Little Guido

This was a really enjoyable little spotfest with some cool dives and a really fun strike exchange. Than Tracy ran in and it led into...

Nova/Antifaz del Norte v. FBI

Nova hits an insane half botched tornado ddt on Sal E. on the floor that almost kills both of him. Then he hits a crazy dive onto Rich and Smothers on the floor. Then Norte pins Guido. As a whole segment this was entertaining.

There are two lengthy non-match brawls in here with Candido destroying Douglas in awesome fashion and a long Dudleys/Public Enemy/New Jack brawl

Taz v. Masked Jobber

This was a brutal ass stomping. Post match there is a pull apart with Sabu.

Tajiri v. Super Crazy

Not sure how early this was in their run, but the opening of this looked to be them working out the kinks and then out of nowhere they just blasted off. I really liked a lot of the mat spots and counters in this as some of it was stuff I'd never seen before and the rest of it was stuff that I don't usually see done this well. Crazy played heel here and it was interesting to see how natural he was in that role given how vanilla a babyface he would be for the bulk of his ECW tenure. This was divided pretty well and while it was really spotty, it was not heavy on back and fourth stuff. They definitely had better matches, but I think this ought to be considered at the very least.

Ulf Herman v. Rob Van Dam

This was a fucking debacle. Herman is one of those rare big guys that does nothing well, doesn't come across as menancing and yet stayed around for way longer than he should have. RVD hits a nice dive in this, but this goes on way too fucking long and Fonzy having to help RVD against a scrub like this does not make the "champ" look strong. Piece of shit.

Roadkill v. Chris Chetti

This was just an excuse for Sid to come out and beat the shit out of both guys. Roadkill takes a crazy bump for him of course.

Balls Mahoney v. Rod Price

This was a good, basic match though there isn't much to note. Post-match OMG runs in and they double team Balls who gets taken out on a stretcher leading to..

Sabu v. One Man Gang

Gang jumps Sabu at the bell and Sabu ends up tossing Gang and Price into the crowd. He attempts a dive onto them and comes up way short crashing into the guardrail nasitly in the process. Sabu ends up spiking the shit out of Gang who bleeds like a stuck pig and takes a big floor bump for a guy his size. Every time Gang looks to get offense he ends up taking a big bump. Price takes a nasty guardrail bump off of a baseball slide. Gang ends up getting crashed through a table by a huge Sabu legdrop. Price jumps him when he is down and Gang takes a piece of the table and chucks it into the ring. Sabu punches him a few times and then takes his first intentional bump of the match - a weak one off of a clothesline. Gang ends up taking a top rope huracanrana in a strange way. Sabu hits a top rope Arabian facebuster for the pin. I really can't fucking believe they were working the match around the horn like this with Sabu doing jack shit and Gang bleeding like crazy and taking tons of big bumps but this is the second match of it's kind I've seen so there you have it. The other match is better but I'm nominating this one too just so I can get someone else to watch these two and see how similar they are/how insane it is that this is the way they laid these out.

Justin Credible v. Lance Storm v. Tommy Dreamer

This sort of went back and fourth between being interesting and clever and being silly and boring. I did not care for the finish here but this probably should have been a lot worse than it was.
