Posted August 26, 201015 yr comment_5455004 Chris Chetti v. Little Guido Guido comes to the ring by himself here as this looks to be a very small spot show. Guido is really great healing here as he bitches about every little thing and jaws non-stop with the fans. Guido seems to be the one guy in the World that has good chemistry with Chetti, as they work a pretty solid back and fourth workrate sprint with some big bumps and spots. Finish is out of nowhere and the worst spot of the match but this was pretty good. Taz v. Balls Mahoney I liked this more than I should have. Balls was entertaining taking big bumps and exchange stiff shots with Taz. Taz actually added some nuances when countering as well. Fun little match. Spike Dudley v. Rob Van Dam Spike's initial offense looked a little loose, but I really loved the out of the blue Van Dam spin kick that started the heat segment. Watching Spike come back and counter some of Van Dam's prop schtick was actually pretty cool and somewhat unexpected. Good god Spike takes all of Van Dam's offense in the most dangerous way possible. This is over to soon and Spike needed more offense but man Spike really was the perfect opponent for so many guys. Pitbulls v. Eliminators I liked Kronus getting bulldogged into a standing trash can and some of the other stuff on the floor. Almost everything that happened in the ring looked really fake or boring. Louie Spicolli v. Raven Almost as soon as this gets going the BWO comes out and we get a Meanie as Scott Hall promo. Spicolli beats them down and Raven takes over on offense brieftly. Stevie ends up running in after a ref bump. Eh. D-Von Dudley v. Tommy Dreamer (Falls Count Anywhere) This is a wild and spirited brawl. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dreamer always tries and even with his obvious weaknesses as a wrestler there are nights when he have a solid match on intensity alone. This was one of those nights. Bubba Dudley v. Sandman I enjoyed this but I wish that Bubba had relied more on big spots rather than plunder. Sandman took some great bumps, sold his ass off and the comeback spot with Bubba taking a huge bump on the guardrail before Sandman's offensive run was great. I am not sold on the flash pin here, but this was pretty good for what it was. Chris Candido v. Sabu Good god the punch exchanges in this are fucking unreal. I mean these guys are throwing bombs every time. Both guys take some big wipe out bumps and they are real clicking and hitting everything clean. The problem with this is that the longer it goes on the more it feels like a collection of spots done at a moderate pace, rather than a wrestling match of any real substance. Entertaining, but it was caught between being a spotfest and a well developed match an ultimately falls short of moving forward.
