Posted August 27, 201015 yr comment_5455040 Early Candido bumps big and bitches after every Balls offensive spot. Balls ends up taking the plunge off of his missed spinkick bump over the ropes and then Candido wipes him out with a plancha. At times I think Candido matches have a tendency to have weak momentum swings but this one works well and I enjoyed Candido wrecking Balls during the early floor exchange. The Balls table bump is really well built to and I loved Candido's taunting slaps when they got back to the ring. There are really some very good teased comeback spots from Balls in this and the powerbomb spot with Candido spilling to the floor after hitting it really is perfectly done as is the Balls nearfall off of the ensuing counter of splash into a powerslam. I even liked the Balls hulk up spot after the top rope rana and the ref bump off of the frustrated chair shot. The ending of this was disappointing as Balls blocks a power shot only to be taken down via blindside chairshot from Douglas. Still I think this is good enough to at least consider for the set.
October 21, 201014 yr comment_5457482 Balls Mahoney vs. Chris Candido Low End Nomination - FanCam 7-10-97 (3 hr fancam) - Balls and Candido trade spots early on until Ballz misses a lariat and goes over the top rope to the floor and Candido takes over. Inside, Candido hooks on a headlock but they don’t do much with it. Of course, we get the boring chants. good thing Dory Funk was in those wild matches with PE and not wrestling Nick Bockwinkel or something. The fans would have had a riot. Ballz starts a comeback after he catches CC off the top rope with a powerslam. Ballz tries really hard but when he is rrunning the ropes, he is in really slow motion. The ending was pretty stupid once the chair got involved and the ref got whacked. Add the mistiming on the Ballz superkick and they lost me. A shame because I was ready to give it a big thumbs up.
November 15, 201014 yr comment_5458346 "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido vs. Balls Mahoney (7/10/97) These two had good chemistry with each other that went back to their SMW days and this was a good match but goddamn that ending with Douglas and the bad timing on the superkick did me in like it did Will. A little bit better finish would've put this one forward but it falls short.
