Danny Doring/Bud Licious v. FBI

Hey look my dad is jawing with Tommy Rich. Early on Bud Licious gets the upper hand on several basic exchanges so the FBI bails and Rich is hilarious going absolutely ballistic on the floor. Smothers grabs the mic and calls them ring boys and says they want real competition, so naturally the FBI get outwrestled again and this time when they go to regroup they get a baseball slide and plancha for their trouble. Rich ends up running Doring into the steel to set up the FIP. FBI do all the staples including the pretending to tag behind the refs back spot. For some reason Rich keeps laying down on the ring announcers table during this. LIke with the the match the night before they sort of flub the hot tag spot, though not quite as badly. I enjoyed this, and Rich added a lot, but it was not as strong a carry job as the previous night.

Tom Pritchard v. Louie Spicolli

Strange to see Pritchard in ECW and even stranger to see him work "respect" match with Spicolli. These guys really beat each other up with chops but this was pretty uneventful.

Chris Chetti v. Jason Knight

Short match ends when PG-13 hit the ring. Odd.

Taz v. Hollywood Nova

Taz beats up the entire BWO

PG-13 v. Spike Dudley/Mikey Whipwreck

I did a virtual play-by-play of the 7-10 match and I'm not going to do that here. This is very similar to the match the night before, but I think where there was variation it was arguably better. For example I liked the double drop down criss cross spot more than some of the schtick PG13 worked in the first match and I thought Spike's flip plancha was a welcome addition here. I also really dug the Ice test of strength with Spike which was just as over the top as him not being able to slam Mikey, but done in a fashion that seemed near believable. The Woflie D/Spike follow up with Mikey coming through Spike's legs for a ball shot on Woflie and J.C. going for the same thing only to get poked in the eyes leading to him popping up and headbutting Wolfie in the nuts was pretty great (as was subsequent helium voice on house mic performance from Wolfie). Spike's FIP was a little weaker here because of the length and the lack of tension on the hot tag, but I actually kinda liked the hub cab assisted victory for th ebad guys.

Pitbulls/Balls Mahoney v. Bam Bam Bigelow/Chris Candido/Shane Douglas

The opening of this was pretty cool with Bam Bam ambushing the Pitbulls and Balls really laying it in with blows on Douglas. New Jack's music plays and the crowd starts going crazy. There is a table spot somewhere in here and Shane starts screaming that he broke his elbow on a plancha. New Jack finally shows up but he's getting his ass kicked by the Dudleyz in the aisleway. Crippled Perry Saturn gives someone a diamond cutter on the entryway. This is really fucking crazy at this point. Camera is all over he place and every time it pans to something somebody is taking a huge shot. The finis to this "match" pretty well sucked but as an ECW brawl the body of this was pretty fun.

Bobby Duncam Jr./Axl Rotten v. Billy Wiles/Jimmy Shoulders

Shoulders takes an insane bump in this and this is more like what you would hope for out of Duncam as he just beats dudes senseless with the cowbell.

Sabu/Rob Van Dam v. Tommy Dreamer/Sandman

Fonzy is cuffed to Gordon again. Pre-match RVD threatens to hurl a chair at someone chanting "you sold out" which is pretty funny. This was worked strange as the heels immediately beat the tar out of the faces, particularly Sandman with no build at all. Dreamer gets a comeback in, but for the most part this felt like total domination by the heels early. Sabu in particular was having an on not and was hitting all of his shit cleanly and Dreamer took a nasty bump on a chair off the top. Beulah comes in and Sabu knocks her out leading to attempted rape spot. All of this was actually not as awful as it sounds on paper (yes I realize this makes me sound creepy). I really loved the babyfaces come back here as Sandman's vault plancha was insane and Dreamer's rolling plancha was fun too. And then the heels regain the advantage and just win. Really anti-climactic finish to a half way decent match.
