Al Snow v. Paul Diamond

For some bizarre reason Danny Doring is reffing this. Pretty much a replay of the night before albeit with some bigger bumps and a better pace.

Mikey Whipwreck v. Justin Credible

Mikey is awesome in the early going running in and just nailing Credible with nasty punches and diving clotheslines. Credible pinballs for him and then makes his comeback off of Jason distraction and Mikey returns the favor bumping big and taking a really good ass kicking. Short of Spike, Mikey has the best full body selling in ECW and it is on display here. Mikey hits a desperation stunner for his comeback spot and then a tornado ddt and you really get the feeling that Credible is on the ropes. Just then Mikey "blows his knee" on a rope running spot and they do a finish with Credible locking on a leg bar and the ref stopping the match. This was on the way to being a really great sprint. As it was this was more ringwork to set up an injury angle than anything else, but it was very good for what it was.

Pitbull 2 v. Chris Chetti

I actually thought this was fun as ECW answer to 123 Kid v. Razor Ramon. Not much of a match but the clean Chetti win was cool.

Chris Candido/Lance Storm v. FBI

I love all of the Candido and Smothers exchanges in this. Not only do we get dueling leg trip spots from the seconds, but you get some really tight looking strikes, a great pace and some solid technique from both guys. The Guido toss spot in this is really awesome and the follow up dive from Storm works really well too. I usually hate Storm, but I think he looked good here both hitting his spots and taking bumps. Rich punching him in the face was admittedly a mark out moment. This whole match is less goofy FBI and more pissed off FBI and it really makes this distinct from a lot of their stuff. This was on it's way to being a really great match when the silly stuff starts. Don't get me wrong, Rich kissing Francine and Candido was funny, but it really didnt' fit what they had been doing up to that point. To make matters worse the finish is botched and unclear. The body of this was really great and different enough where I think it deserves to pass through, but the finish is as frustrating as anything I've seen so far.

Lou Marconi/Billy Wiles v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten

Total steamrolling squash by Balls and Axl.

Tommy Rogers/Jerry Lynn v. D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley

Dudz are stalling their ass off here and enjoyed the D-Von and Rogers segment as D-Von really sold well for Rogers and made him look like a top act. Loved Bubba's selling of Rogers punches as well. Lynn ends up working FIP which makes sense because it protects Rogers. Not surprisingly Rogers takes some great bumps himself off of Dud cheapshots during this segment, but I think Lynn was pretty decent as well. The initial hot tag is a little flat, but i did like Bubba brushing off Lynn's dropkick as well as the double monkey flip spot from the faces and the floor brawling. Some of the stuff down the stretch was too cute for my taste, but I really loved the string of Tommikaze bumps in this leading the Big Dick chokeslam and the finish. This led to a really entertaining Dudz v. Spike and New Jack brawl with lots of fun garbage spots. This is another close but no cigar match involving Rogers.

Blue Meanie v. Jason Knight

Jason stiffs Meanie a few times, Meanie comeback, moonsault, finish.

Tommy Dreamer v. Taz

The early matwork here was a lot of fun. Not great stuff by any means, but it's enjoyable to see these guys try and somewhat surprising to see Taz give anyone that much on the mat. Taz hits some good cross faces in this and the brawling on the floor isn't great, but the spot with Tommy backhanding Taz with a chair after missing the original was really cool. Back in the ring they went into full back and fourth sprint mode, but I liked the way it was done as both guys kept finding a way to cut off the momentum of the other at the last second. Taz's top rope suplex looked brutal and I thought the DDT escape, leading to Tazmission, leading to eventually DDT for nearfall was really cool. Out on the floor Dreamer takes a crazy table bump and I am really starting to think "this is a damn good match" and as if on cue out come Sabu and RVD to fuck shit up. This leads to a teased Brakkus v. Taz showdown with the locker room emptying to stop it. Another sure fire nomination ruined by a bullshit finish.

Tommy Rogers v. Rob Van Dam

Rogers is out with taped ribs and RVD takes it straight to him. Funny to see Rogers sort of shrug off a five star after RVD refuses to cover him. Of course Sabu runs in and it leads to..

Sabu v. Sandman

This was a hell of a spotfest. Both Sabu and Sandman hit all of their wild and reckless spots with speed and a remarkable degree of precision considering who is involved. I thought some of the cutoff spots down the stretch here were really brilliant with Sandman catching Sabu with an electric chair off of an attempted sprinboard leg lariat, RVD distracting Sandman long enough for a great tope, and Sandman crash burning on a flip senton off a ladder through a table after RVD pulls Sabu away at the last possible second. I could have done without RVD interference leading directly to the finish, but you knew it was coming, and at least Sabu got in a great exclamation point move for the finish. This is similar to Kanemura v. Tanaka in that it is all spots, but it was done so well I think it has to move along.
