These guys are just flying through stuff, but it is broken down into little mini-segments which keeps it from feeling terribly over the top. In particular I really like Mikey's reaction to Lynn's early offense and his crazy corner- post to -railing bump to set up the spots on the floor was really a crazy ricochet spot. Lynn's splash looked great and Mikey's dive into the crowd was pretty much the perfect blend of reckless Mikey and workrate Mikey. Mikey's dropkick was a great nearfall and the nearfall segment in general was great here because even though it was somewhat back and fourth, the selling in between spots was good enough where it didn't feel like guys taking turns. Some people would probably hate the finish, but I liked it as Mikey hitting the top rope stunner only for Lynn to fall on top and luck into a pin protected Mikey and also made the proceeding nearfall segment come across as a sort of last gasp for both guys.
November 4, 201014 yr comment_5457980 Mikey Whipwreck vs. Jerry Lynn Solid Nomination - FanCam 8-20-98 - I am not really up on ECW TV so I am guessing this is face vs. face. Nice hot beginning capped off with Jerry going crazy in the corner and hitting a high kick to Mikey’s face. Of course, MMikey works well when getting his ass kicked but has enough credible offense to take control as well. Jerry hooking in a sharpshooter seemed off but it was quickly broken up after Mikey hit the ropes. The outside dive by Mikey was not impressive but it gave him an excuse to put it away in the ring. Wow, I thought the suplex exchange towards the end was pretty sweet and the ending had to get put on rewind to see exactly what happened. I back the solid nomination and I see this making the set.
November 24, 201014 yr comment_5458626 Jerry Lynn vs. Mikey Whipwreck (8/20/98) This was a really good babyface match as it wasn't your standard fare scientific match but they went into it with intensity especially Lynn who would pound on Mikey which was only right because he was a good FIP. Both men were good here in their roles keeping the match moving at a fast pace and the ending was good too although there was a little iffiness but even with that this moves forward easily.
