Posted August 28, 201015 yr comment_5455075 Bubba Dudley v. Axl Rotten I liked this a fair amount as a solid little opener. Bubba moves around pretty well and Axl hit some cool stuff. Solid, if largely irrelevant work. El Puerto Ricano/Hack Myers v. Eliminators (EXTRA) This was fun. Ricano hits an insane dive on the Eliminators and drives them off the platform and into the crowd. Then the Elims just murder Ricano. Ricano takes a bunch of cool fold up bumps, gets his face moonsaulted to shit, and gets ragdolled to hell. This is what you want to see out of Ricano really. I can't justify rating this one, but as an early Elims match I could see this being a worthwhile extra. J.T. Smith v. Dances With Dudley J.T.'s opening punch was fucking awesome on every conceivable level. DWD gets a little offense in and then J.T. starts reeling off all of his shit, like the rope/flip splash and a really good dropkick. Sign Guy tries to distract J.T. with a sign but JT stops the ambush before eventually eating a back body drop on the wooden floor. JT ends up hitting a couple of big offensive spots but refuses to go for the pin and then "fucks up" and falls to his head on the floor leading the count out finish. I liked this, fuck the haters. Steve Richards v. Mikey Whipwreck This was pretty great. Match is really broken down into three parts. First part is Mikey getting the best of Richards with armwork. They will come up for a high spot here or there but Mikey is controlling him and Richards can't get a break or get free of him. The second part is Richards control segment. This is bridged to very well by an epic top rope bump from Richards and a great Mikey plancha. Richards cuts off this run with a power bomb but sells a bit before coming back to offense. As usual Mikey makes a good rag doll and Richards does a good job throwing him around with some suplexes. Mikey's hope spots are very well executed and believable as are the nearfalls. Final segment of this is Mikey's attempted flurries of offense building to the Richards finish. In particular I thought the spot with the missed splash looked great and I enjoyed the sit down on the powerbomb. Superkick came out of nowhere and it really seemed like a last gasp for Richards. Both guys came out of this looking like a million bucks. I'm probably not doing this justice, but this is one of the better ECW matches I've seen from 95. Tommy Dreamer v. Raven This was actually a really enjoyable all over god's creation brawl. They were just recklessly knocking over shit, hitting each other with everything under the sun, brawling deep into the crowd, et. Well on it's way to being in the nomination camp when a massive Dudleyz/Foley run-in ends the match. Then there si a never ending brawl with damn near the entire locker room fighting all over the fucking building. Sandman/Too Cold Scorpio v. Public Enemy Austin comes out pre-match and delivers a wonderful and offensive promo about taking everyone's title pre-match. I liked the early Rock/Scorp exchanges here and Grunge looked unusually spry as well. Crowd brawling had some fun stuff with a big Sandman running elbow onto Grunge and a crazy leaping plancha from Scorp onto a frying pan wielding Rocco. At one point Sandman just collapses off the stage and into the crowd. I really think this wen on too long though and I hated the finish.
