I really liked this. I hadn't expected Hack to get much of this, but Van Dam gave him enough to look credible and bumped pretty huge for him at key times. Van Dam hit some really crazy shit in this and it looked good. His crowd moonsault was particularly impressive. I also really liked Hack's bumping and selling for Van Dam's stuff as when it was time to make his comeback it still felt like Van Dam's match to loose. Myers offense was typically sharp and Van Dam countering a suplex with the fisherman's buster, followed by some nasty neckbreaking offense was a good finish. For two guys that were clearly on a different level kayfabe wise, this was a very well put together match.

Rob Van Dam vs. "The Shah" Hack Myers (8/2/96)

This was quite the styles clash but very fun as RVD was still great here and Hack was a solid hand. RVD's offense looked pretty great here and Hack put out a fine effort in selling and bumping for him which was good. Hack was good on offense as well leading to RVD just destroying him for the finish. I liked this a good bit and this moves forward.

RVD vs. Hack Myers (8/2/96)

- I think it’s more fun to see Hack kicking ass than getting his ass kicked. I think RVD and Hack have pretty good chemistry together. When they were in the ring, I was digging all of the work. When they were out in the crowd, they lost me. I thought the ending fell flat though with the awkward chair leg drop and then the sloppy roll up cover. Eh, I’ll pass on this one too.
