Posted August 30, 201015 yr comment_5455160 Taz v. Jimmy Cicero Hey look Jimmy Cicero is taking headbumps for Taz. Kind of novel squash. J.T. Smith v. Mikey Whipwreck (EXTRA) J.T.'s comes to the ring with Bad Crew, Devon Storm and Sal Bellemo which might be my all time favorite group of randoms in ECW history. He is wearing a Goodfellas shirt and is jawing with fans, threatening to leave, singing fly me to the moon, et. Heels jump Mikey at the bell to give J.T. the advantage when the match starts. Storm trips Mikey to cut off his spot and gets planchaed and then Mikey takes out all of the heels with a baseball slide. J.t. hits his rop assisted flip splash. Mikey goes back on offense and is hitting inside out rana's on J.T. and using J.T. as a sprinboard to wipe out the whole heel contingent at ringside. Mikey ends up winning with a top rope frankensteiner that spikes J.T. on his head. I really loved this though I can't see anyone else finding it as enjoyable as I did. Erotic Experience v. Spike Dudley/Bubba Dudley (EXTRA) Bubba having to restrain Spike pre-match made me chuckle. I really expected this to be a squash and big Spike unveiling of sorts, but instead Spike gets an initial offensive run and then ends up working a long FIP. He really takes some huge bumps and makes the heels look good before hitting a dropckick and getting the hot tag to Bubba. Spike becomes a javelin for Bubba during the babyface comeback segment which is always fun. Bubba ends up destroying one of these dudes with a powerbomb and then Spike climbs his shoulders and hits an awesome diving splash for the finish. This was a very good basic tag but I thought it was an odd follow up to the pre-match stuff with Spike. Terry Gordy v. John Kronus Watching Kronus do his bullshit against Gordy was just silly. This was kept short, but we got a Bam Bam powerbomb so I was happy enough. Tommy Dreamer v. Brian Lee I always liked this feud. yeah a lot of this is meandering bullshit and guys walking around holding each others head while running through the building. But I thought the big spots were creative and there matches always feel like two guys who are trying to hurt each other. This had some fun bumps and the brawling all over the Arena shctick with a decent finish. Not bad. New Jack v. Steve Richards/Blue Meanie Pre-match Jack says Mustapha couldn't make it because he slapped airport security. Richards/Meanie are dressed as Public Enemy and Jack lets them run through their whole pre-match shctick while laughing at them. Basically a comedy match with New Jack which is sort of novel. Post-match the heels beat down Jack which was just bizarre. Shane Douglas v. Pitbull 2 I really don't think 2 is a terrible worker and I actually like a lot of Shane's ECW work but man there matches were so fucking weak. This really isn't any good. Not as tedious as there other matches but these two really bring out the boring side in each other. Perry Saturn v. Sabu Almost exactly what you would expect. Both guys run through their shit. Some if it looks good, some not so much. Some of it is really cute, some it looks pretty brutal. Spot of the match was the DDT through the table, though that was pretty well telegraphed. Sandman v. Raven (Cage Match) This Cage is just horribly constructed but it makes it looks really fucking awesome when Sandman is pinballing around. Sandman gets color early and ends up making a comeback shortly thereafter tossing Raven around the cage in due order to the point where Raven escapes. Sandman's selling in this is really great as he doesn't fire up so much as he fights back. He ends up taking a chain off of the cage and punching Raven with it which bloodies up Raven. Sandman and Raven end up brawling to the back of the building and out of the door. Match is clipped up and we come back right as they get back to the ring and now Meanie and Raven are in and they are running through all of their shit. This had a lot of potential and Sandman was really good in it, but there was just too much lackey bullshit at the end of this.
