Posted August 30, 201015 yr comment_5455166 Dory Funk Jr. vs. Tiger Jeet Singh (12/5/83) This is your average crappy Tiger Jeet match but at least Dory gets good color here. NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. The Great Kabuki (12/12/83) Always good to see Jim Crockett Jr. read the proclamations in Japan. This is an interesting title match as Kabuki gets the shot over the usual suspects because this is the RWTL finals show. Kabuki mixes up his style here going with both wrestling moves and his nerve hold bonanza which was his strategy at this time of his career. Flair tried to have a good match with Kabuki but he just kept going to nerve holds and the one to Flair's love handles was just ridiculous to watch. The fans would get into this and it had a good stretch run with Flair eating a couple of Superkicks before finally getting the best of Kabuki but he would get into it with the referee who would call for the DQ after Flair ate another Superkick which pissed the fans off. Kabuki then sprayed mist in Flair's face afterwards. This is up there on the list of worst Flair title defenses in Japan and it wasn't his fault. Real World Tag League: Giant Baba & Dory Funk Jr. vs. Bruiser Brody & Stan "The Lariat" Hansen (12/10/83) Dory gets dominated to start which is no surprise then Baba comes in and the domination continues as they swap in and out although they do get a little bit of offense every now and then. This is a hot crowd as well especially when Baba is in the match but it would fall apart as Baba botched missing a lariat forcing Hansen to botch hitting Joe Higuchi. This brought in Terry Funk who tried to attack the big men but they got rid of him and this turned into a wild brawl with Joe Higuchi calling for the bell to stop the match. This was fun for what it was.
