I enjoyed Roadkill stiffing D-Von, but he really should have been paired off with Bubba at the jump. Bubba dumping Doring on his head was pretty nasty. I usually complain about the brevity of ECW FIP segments, but the Doring segment here seemed to go really long even though everything was executed well and there were some good cutoff spots mixed in. Actually fuck that Doring was the best I've ever seen him as FIP here. Some of Doring's post-hot tag offense was really shitty but I loved all of the double team spots from the babyfaces and Doring's selling of the blindside shot from Sign Guy that led to Roadkill being left alone for the Death Drop was actually really awesome. This is pretty much THE Doring match to watch as it is the one time I can recall him outworking Roadkill and easily the best babyface performance of Doring's career.

Roadkill/Danny Doring v. Bubba Dudley/D-Von Dudley Solid Nomination - FanCam 4-30-99

- Good offense from Doring and Roadkill early on, much better than the vanilla showing I watched earlier. Doring ends up in peril and the Duds work him over. Not really a fan of conventional Dudley matches. I think I need them brawling or tossing tiny dudes around. Still, they are giving Doring an absolute ass whipping. Not the most exciting stuff since they aren’t Tenryu vicious and Doring isn’t the most sympathetic character out there. There was a nasty spot where Bubba has Doring in a bearhug position and falls back and Doring’s face goes splat. I think it is bothering me because the Duds aren’t giving Doring any hope spots or even teasing that he could make the tag. HE finally makes the tag after a double arm DDT and Roadkill cleans house. He eventually gets dropped with the 3D. I have mixed feelings about the match. On one hand, the strategy was sound and the match had a decent structure. The biggest problem is I was not excited about watching the match. The Duds were never as vicious as I wanted them to be and Doring/Roadkill are not my favorite guys. Low end nomination.

ECW World Tag Titles: The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray & D-Von) © vs. Amish Roadkill & "Dastardly" Danny Doring (4/30/99)

I'll say this, Doring looked as good here as I've ever seen him and the Dudz were really solid here as the bullies just beating the shit out of him. Roadkill came in after the hot tag and looked good and they had the Dudz on the ropes with the Dudz getting the 3D out of almost desperation to win the match. This was lots of fun and it moves forward easily.
