Posted September 4, 201015 yr comment_5455315 This started off slow and I thought the opening matwork here was pretty sloppy and not terribly interesting but it built and built and eventually you realized that this was a really good match. Scorp's matches tend to go this way but this had a really unique feel as Scorp seemed to work stiffer and stiffer and almost get irritated at Jericho's offensive attempts. Jericho ends up with a nasty shiner and really shows some fire during his comeback. They sort of botch a key nearfall on this but it actually makes the match work even more as Scorp gets legitimately pissed and starts bickering with the ref. Scorp's backflip kick looked brutal, his splashes looked really violent and any time someone gets finished off by Scorp dropping the bomb I'm happy.
November 10, 201014 yr comment_5458184 2 Cold Scorpio vs. "Lionheart" Chris Jericho (5/17/96) This had a slow burn to Scorp deciding to beat the shit out of Jericho eventually giving him a blackeye which was awesome. Jericho then got pissed at this and went to war on his comeback but Scorp's intensity prevailed in the end. Very fun match and this moves forward easily.
November 26, 201014 yr comment_5458686 Too Cold Scorpio v. Chris Jericho Solid Nomination - FanCam 5-17-96 - These guys work the mat early on and get a boring chant for their troubles. Nice. Fucking fans. Once it picks up, it really picks up. I think this is a step below the other match up between the two. The matwork in that match was more swank and I think the big stretch run and counters were more dynamic. With that said, I would not complain if both matches made the set. Nomination.
