Posted September 5, 201015 yr comment_5455342 C.W. Anderson v. Skull Von Krush I liked this. Skull's punches looked pretty stiff, C.W. took a pretty massive bump on the floor, it had fairly good flow. Not a great match or a memorable one, but this was a fun opener. Simon Diamond v. Roadkill Best part about this was seeing Roadkill actually connect with the ropewalk elbow. Otherwise this was fairly pedestrian stuff. Little Guido v. Super Crazy This was pretty good, but didn't knock me on my ass. At times they really seemed to be going through the motions though at other times I thought they were really busting their ass. Really a pretty up and down match as far as that goes. Guido attack the arm is always a favorite of mine and I like Crazy definitive finishes, but this was not one of their better matches. Lance Storm v. Jerry Lynn Boring though Storm's counter into the rolling samoan drop thingy was pretty sweet. Nova/Chris Chetti v. D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley Weird match. Nova seemingly gets hurt for real on a nasty looking neckbreaker combo which brings out Balls as a replacement. The match did get somewhat better at that point as Balls always tries hard. Balls ends up taking the tack table bump for a nearfall only which I found more surprising than I probably should have. Not good but not bad. Tommy Dreamer v. Steve Corino All mic work. Francine pins Corino. A real waste. El Mosco Del Merced v. Tajiri God damn I love Tajiri. This is too short to rate but he kicks the shit out of Merced including a really brutal looking double boot off of a moonsault attempt. A lot of fun while it lasted. And it led to.. Taz v. Tajiri Taz suplexes Tajiri over the ropes and they start out crowd brawling. Taz actually takes a pretty big bump into the chairs and Tajiri ends up taking a odd lookign face first bump into a trash can. Tajiri's running face plant into a wall was ridiculous and cool at the same time. Actually this was worked fairly even but I liked it as it was basically two tough dudes unloading bombs on each other. The spot with Taz absorbing kicks leading to head and leg suplex should have been annoying but I actually thought it was pretty cool. Especially when Tajiri followed it up by kicking his head off. Unfortunatley this one has another weak finish with Taz locking in a Tazmission out of the blue and an immediate tap out. Just shy of being nominatible. Justin Credible v. Sabu Sabu goes to dive onto evil ref and gets cut off with a cane shot. After a brief Credible run Sabu ends up hitting a dive on him and evil ref which was pretty cool payback spot. After that point this one was pretty boring. I'm getting to the point where I like Sabu almost exclusively in spotfests and this really wasn't one. Maybe I'm being grumpy but I didn't like this at all. Spike Dudley v. Rob Van Dam Early I liked some of the counters a lot, especially Van Dam catching Spike's rolling senton and slamming him into the guardrail. RVD ends up beating on Spike for a while and Spike's selling top notch even if a good bit of Van Dam's shit is annoying. Loved Spike's comeback tope but his comeback really amounted to nothing much and led to a run of really contrived RVD shit. I really want to like one of these matches but ultimately they are all RVD jacking off which his shitastic prop comedy act while a superior wrestler makes it tolerable with his bumping and selling.
