I really enoyed Roadkill in this as everything he did had huge impact, he was moving around massive, his punches looked pretty sick, et. Nearfalls and stuff of that ilk were pretty fast and furious, but they had several clever cut off spots and as weird as this sounds I really dug the body language of all of the guys in the match as it felt like a real war in part due to that. Fun opener. Little Guido v. Tajiri Awesome start to this as Tajiri misses a spinkick and then eats a nasty right from Guido sending him to the floor and setting up an epic Sal E. rail splash spot. Tajiri retaliates with a rewind elbow, a brutal slap and a suplex into the stands. Jesus these guys are working stiff. This is definitely spottier than there other matches but man there is some sick shit in this. Guido's whiplash bump off the double kick the ribs and subsequent bump off the next kick are great. Tajiri bodyslams Guido on the floor and then hits him with a sickening running chairshot...twice. Guido bleeds a horrible gusher and is on the ropes so Sal E. pulls Tajiri to the floor to work him over a bit which actually works well here as Guido is so fucked up it really doesn't seem reasonable to expect him to make a comeback on his own. Then he waffles Tajiri with a diving chairshot and a spike DDT and goes back to the Sicilian Crab for the second time in the match for the finish. Sort of an odd finish but I really liked this one and again it was really different from their other matches. Jerry Lynn v. Justin Credible Probably the worst match I've seen from these two. It wasn't bad really, but everything seemed to be going through the motions type stuff and the overbooked shit killed it even more. Christopher Daniels v. El Mosco Del Merced Total squash for Daniels. Well that was unexpected though it was primarily done as a set up for... Christopher Daniels v. Super Crazy Daniels was a lot more tolerable then, but it is still funny to watch him working in some of these spots as he does them in really strange ways that almost seem forced. His heeling is pretty good in this though and I thought Crazy's hot run of stuff at the jump was well done and he sold well for Daniels during his control segment. Crazy hulking up only to get eyeraked was pretty cool. Strange to see Daniels kick out of Crazy's moonsault and the strike exchange that followed it looked really shitty. Daniels getting crotched on the top and sliding across on his balls after a double chop was a pretty cool spot. No clue why he got to kick out of two Crazy moonsaults, and then he kicks out of Crazy's triple moonsault spot which really fucking stunned me. Who knew they would work this hard to protect Daniels in 99? The look on Crazy's face when he kicks out of the standing moonsault is really fucking funny. Amazingly Daniels actually wins this after a series of shitty roll up exchanges. This was actually pretty good for what it was. Angel v. Skull Von Krush Some okay exchanges. Taz ends up running in and destroying both guys. Rhino v. Taz Taz squashes Rhino including a sick rail and table bump. Balls Mahoney/Spike Dudley v. Bubba Dudley/D-Von Dudley (Falls Count Anywhere) Really loved the opening babyface attack as everything looked really good from Balls punches, to Spikes forearms and ranas, to the Balls superkick, to the Spike toss onto the Dudz on the floor. Bubba takes over after a sidewalk slam and cuts Spike open with a cheese grater. D-Von and Balls take turns stabbing each other. A big part of this is effectively lost as the camera doesn't follow the crowd brawling so I'll be see of that is Spike's insane balcony dive. By the time they get back to the ring all four guys are bloody messes. The babyfaces hit their finishers and there is a really good nearfall with both heels kicking out at th elast second. Heels end up hitting their finish but Balls makes a great last second save with a chairshot. Balls ends up getting caught trying to put Bubba through a thumbtack covered flaming table and takes the bump himself for the finish. This was a really awesome escalating brawl but with a good two minutes cut from the middle I'm not sure I can vouch for it as a "must have" on the set. Still worth passing on though. Lance Storm v. Rob Van Dam Lots of opening ballet spots and the payoff to all of that is Bill Alfonzo sexually assaulting Dawn Marie? Bizarre. Van Dam's missed cross body into the crowd was a pretty cool spot. Actually there were several big bumps in this but the problem is that the never seemed to lead anywhere and the heat segment in this just wasn't very interesting. The end of this with the Sabu run-in and Fonzy frenetically setting up props was amusing but also really indicative of why ECW main events from this time period were so rarely any good.
