Posted September 8, 201015 yr comment_5455449 Pitbulls v. FBI Easily the best Pitbulls match I've seen so far. Guido is actually the star of this one as his reactions and antics when in the ring with the Pitbulls are all hilarious and awesome. Rich decking Pitbull 2 with a chair and ripping his shirt off while screaming at the crowd was probably the highlight. FIP is short, but it probably should have been in this setting. Solid match. Danny Doring v. Chris Chetti Taz runs and destroys both guy which is probably a blessing. Chris Candido v. ? Good match. Not sure who was under the hood here but aside from some shitty looking spinkicks I liked the basic offense he worked and he took some really great bumps. Both of the dives in this were well done. This was a thinly veiled competitive squash for Candido, but he worked it so well that it felt more like a straight up feature bout. Spike Dudley/Mikey Whipwreck v. D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley This starts out really hot and the opening run finishes up with an insane spot where Mikey tosses Spike at Bubba on the floor and over shoots and Spike hits the floor hard as fuck. Mikey runs over and hilo's D-Von on the other side of the ring and starts working him over as Bubba trash talks Spike on the floor, presumably buying time to make sure he isn't dead. Bubba and Spike are usually a very strong pairing but here an awful lot of Spike's offensive attempts end with Bubba looking like an uncooperative douche. Spike really saves this from totally going off the rails by taking a bunch of insane shit including the Bubba side slam and powerbomb and a nasty powerslam from D-Von off of an attempted top rope move. After a brief attempt at a Mikey comeback ends on the floor with a sick chairshot the Dudz 3D Spike and pin him. Post-match Mikey lights them up with chairshots. Very strange match. Fun to watch in a perverse way, but I'm not sure it was all that good. Balls Mahoney v. Sandman Chair v. Cane dueling is kinda ridiculous but man does the Sandman eat a chairshot. These guys really beat each other to holy hell with props but then the Dudz run-in and pretty well kill the mach. Axl Rotten v. New Jack They brawl all over the case and both guys bleed. Louie Spicolli v. Tommy Dreamer Boring. Spicolli just doesn't do anything interesting and Tommy can only try so hard. Terry Funk v. Steve Richards You get the feeling the whole purpose of this match is to establish Stevie as a real main event guy. Early Funk does the absorbing shots bit which I always liked and eventually Richards takes over by piledrivering and neckbreakering Funk to hell. Match spills outside and Funk drags Richards over the barrier in an awkward way and ends up taking over with crowd brawling and chairshots. Meanie runs in and tries his damndest to help Richards but of course fucks it up and helps Funk. Funk effectively "steals a win" after a roll up battle. There were parts of this that were a lot of fun, but the finish was really flat and Richards really didn't come out of this looking like a main eventer. Shane Douglas v. Raven Really boring. This is one of those Douglas matches that starts with him trying to prove that he can work the mat and it just sort of goes from there with lots of unspirited, sleepy eyed crap, all of it building to the inevitable belly-to-belly finish that no one is really buying in the first place. D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley v. Eliminators Dueling knunchucks spots at the beginning of this were intended as comedy but just came off as lame, stupid shit. Lots of dumb prop spots and meandering crowd brawling. This sucked and seemed like it would never end. Man the Eliminators were a fucking terrible team.
