Posted September 9, 201015 yr comment_5455467 Justin Credible v. Chris Chetti This was okay. Chetti bumped okay. Kept quick and mostly inoffensive. Phil Lafon/Doug Furnas v. Danny Doring/? Total squash leading to... FBI v. Mikey Whipwreck/Spike Dudley/Phil Lafon/Doug Furnas Man this was disappointing. This was primarily a vehicle to continue the Spike v. Bigelow feud as he comes out and launches Spike into the crowd and then crushes Mikey. Then the FBI get eliminated in short order. The work that was there was fine, but way too short. Al Snow/Roadkill v. Vampire Warrior/Marty Jannetty I liked this. Roadkill and Snow did a good job being cowardly heels and Jannetty was a really good FIP. He took the flip clothesline bump too which always makes me happy. I was not a fan of the babyfaces winning in the end, but overall this was a very enjoyable little match. Jerry Lynn v. Chris Candido Solid match. Did a good job of utilizing stalling to get the crowd going and Candido really took Lynn's offense well. For some reason I was really impressed with the leapfrog spots in this which is an odd thing to notice but whatever. Rude's interference looked really stiff. Pacing in this one was sort of up and down but I thought it worked well enough. Did not like the stretch run much, but overall pretty good. Bill Alfonzo v. Beulah Not like the Arena match. Paul Diamond v. Rob Van Dam Man this sucked. Two of the guys with the most contrived and annoying looking tendencies in wrestling at the time trying to out anger me with their bullshit highspots that don't look good and look like they wouldn't hurt anyone. Blah. Dory Funk Jr. v. Shane Douglas Will is going to find this hard to believe, but this was a boring Dory Funk Jr. match. Really nothing of note happened other than Bammer taking a table bump when he tried to interfere. Sabu v. Taz I don't even have to look to know this is going to a draw and sure enough this is worked the exact same way they worked all of these matches from this run in 97. Immediate crowd brawling? Check. Tons of overkill down the stretch? Check. Matwork based around body part targetting? Check. This is a match I've seen a few times already and while I thought the execution of it was okay it's not a match that I really think suits either guy. Also this suffered from some really terrible camera work in spots. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten v. D-Von Dudley/Bubba Dudley v. John Kronus/New Jack Guys hit each other with stuff and bleed. Yep.
