Tommy Rogers v. Chris Chetti

Man Rogers has disappointed. This had an awful lot of badly telegraphed stuff. Rogers was sharp at moments, but this lacked any kind of flow. In some ways Chetti was the better guy here.

Jason/Justin Credible v. Spike Dudley/Mikey Whipwreck

Kind of a strange match. I did like the Mikey/Spike stereo dive early even if the Spike senton was sort of whiffed on by Credible. This had a lot of the staples of the Mikey/Spike team but it was structured in a weird way as the Spike FIP lacked the urgency it normally has and then Mikey came in and was almost immediately victimized by Jason and Justin before he could show any sustained fire. Lots of good work is sort of interspersed throughout this but I just can't get over the oddball nature of how this built. I did think the finish was pretty great though as Credible pulls up the mats exposing the floor and bulldogs Mikey on the outside busting him open which leaves Spike alone and easy prey for a tombstone finish.

Chris Candido v. Jerry Lynn

Another somewhat odd match in that it was structured better than I would have guessed on paper and I actually think it may have been worse for being so well structured. This really felt like it needed more big Lynn offense and a more dynamic pace in parts. On the other hand I'm not sure how well that would have worked because when they picked up the pace toward the end to feed some of Lynn's mini-comebacks, the match seemed to suffer from Candido's totally lack of selling relatively big spots. Not trying to shit on this one really because I liked that Candido controlled it, and there were some really good spots and strong teasing of what would be the eventually finish. But this seemed really scatterbrained to me despite still being a fairly good match.

Bubba Dudley v. Taz

Well this was stiff but it was not very compelling. Bubba almost killed Taz by landing on him mid-leapfrog right before the finish.

Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten v. FBI

God damn this finish. I actually thought this was a really good tag, but the finish just kills it. Guido stars off taking an epic asskicking, Tracy takes over on Balls by using speed of all things, Balls sells his ass off, there are several cool double teams. Et. there is even some good mic work mixed in here from Rich and a super stiff reverse DDT from Axl. Then the run-in train starts and man it just fucking ruins everything.

Paul Diamond/Chastity v. Tommy Dreamer/Beulah

Diamond attacks Dreamer's leg early. Dreamer fights back. Bullshit with the ladies. . This actually wasn't terrible but it just seems like a huge waste of time.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. Sabu

This is knock down drag out. Sabu goes for a sunset flip and Bigelow sits on him. Then Bigelow does this awesome running baseball slide, but Sabu avoids it and punches him as hard as he can in the face. Then Bam Bam takes a bump over the guardrail and Sabu hits a huge dive. He sets him up on a table but it breaks under his weight. Sabu doesn't give a fuck and legdrops him in the face on the broken table which looks sick as hell. Bigelow ends up powerbombing Sabu on his head but than misses a diving headbut and lands on a chair. Sabu hits the Air Sabu and then a splash that knocks them both over the ropes. Then Sabu hits him hard as fuck in the face with a chair. He goes for the triple jump moonsault but Bigelow is half standing up so he ends up kicking him in the face on the way down. Then Bammer goes for Greetings From Asbury Park and the fucking run-in train starts. Fuck Paul Heyman.
