Jumbo/Tenryu vs. Kiniski/Olonowski - The gaijin team did some decent flying offense, but their strikes looked like shit. I liked the dueling axehandles from the second rope to the floor. I was surprised that Jumbo and Tenryu gave the foreigners so much offense, especially given how little the crowd seemed to care. Kiniski and Olonowski moved to more heelish double teaming as the match moved on, which was the right idea. But then Jumbo hit his big suplex out of nowhere for a pretty casual win. The pacing of the match was weird, with Jumbo/Tenryu treating their opponents like real threats and then like jobbers at the finish. Anyway, no shot at the set. The week-to-week quality in '83 and '84 was poor compared to the later stuff. Battle Royal - These are never any good.
