I never looked at her like a sex symbol though. I always looked at her as Michaels sister. Then Michael went crazy, so she was the sane little sister. Pearl Jam - Great band. They're one of those bands that people compare every other band to. "They sound like Pearl Jam." I really like Eddie's vocals. They're also one of the only bands that I've heard live that didn't suck. They sound just like they do on CD's live. Lynyrd Skynyrd - One of my favorite bands. Can't help but wonder what more they could've done if they didn't die so early. Part of the reason why I'm such a Fabulous Freebird mark. Marvin Gaye - Eh, not my cup of tea. Certainly influential. Too bad about his death. I don't think he was bad, I just didn't listen to him a whole lot. Public Enemy - Never dug them. Can't deny that they were pretty influential but I was listening to shit like Guns N' Roses when they were becoming big. Marilyn Manson - The man is actually quite bright. He certainly knows how to market himself. Big fan of "shock value." Took a bad rap for a lot of shit that certainly wasn't his fault. I'm not real big on his music because a lot of it is too heavy. David Bowie - Tremendous. A lot of people sleep on him. He's got some beats though. Donna Summer - Right there with Marvin Gaye. She's not bad, I just don't listen to her. The Clash - I like Rock the Cashbah and that's about it. I think their accent throws me off. I never really understood all the praise that they got. I don't think that they did anything more signifigant than Billy Idol did. Joni Mitchell - *pukes* Not high on the Joni bandwagon am I.
May 19, 200520 yr comment_2195062 Janet Jackson Never liked her music, but I never especially had a problem with it either. Pearl Jam I love me some Pearl Jam. One of my favorite bands of all time. "ten" was actually the first album I played for my son. Lynyrd Skynyrd Good band, I haven't listened to too much of their stuff but I like what I have. Marvin Gaye Not my thing. Public Enemy I'm not a huge rap fan, but these guys were certainly alright. Marilyn Manson Intelligent man, He's had some very good work but the last few years I haven't enjoyed his music as much. David Bowie Bowie is excellent. I can't really think of much to say about him aside from that. Donna Summer Most definetly not my thing. The Clash I love the Clash. "London Calling" may be the greatest Punk album ever. Joni Mitchell Not my thing.
May 19, 200520 yr comment_2196893 Janet Jackson - She was hot back in the day, but I haven't been that crazy for her lately, even well before that incident at some football game. Rhythm Nation was fine, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I've liked of hers besides that. Pearl Jam - I don't think their latter stuff is good as their earlier stuff, but they're still awfully good. Ten was great, and I really liked Vitology as well. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Great band that I wished I had seen live. Free Bird is one of the best rock anthems of all time. Sweet Home Alabama, Saturday Night Special, Call Me The Breeze are among the other stuff I love of this band. Marvin Gaye - Not my thing, but as others said, certainly influential. Public Enemy - Also not my thing. Sorry. Marilyn Manson - Not a huge fan, but the stuff I've heard of his I really like. I still like Beautiful People the most. David Bowie - Love, love Bowie. Love his most well-known stuff, such as Let's Dance, Under Pressure, Changes, Panic In Detroit, Golden Years, Rebel Rebel, among others. Donna Summer - Not a big fan. There's a disco song of hers that I like, but I can't think of it offhand. Last Dance, perhaps. It's the only thing I really care for, that's for sure. The Clash - I need to get into these guys more. I like London Calling and Rock the Cashbah, and I need to get into more stuff of theirs. Joni Mitchell - Perhaps it's because she's a fellow Canuck, but Joni's a guilty pleasure of mine. I really like Free Man In Paris, Carey, Big Yellow Taxi, and Help Me an awful lot. I don't care for her modern day orchestra-sounding stuff, but her old stuff is Perfectly Acceptable Oldies Tracks.
