Posted September 24, 201015 yr comment_5456218 There are several things on this but I'm only going to cover the stuff from SMW and while I may go back and watch the other stuff later for shits and giggles it seems senseless to review stuff that is definitely not SMW (I know, I reviewed those NWA shows, but there was reffing by Mark Curtis! I was confused!) Al Snow introductory promo in SMW explaining the absence of Eddie Gilbert and how he is taking his place as handler of Unabomb. Snow walks off the set saying he's going to have sex. Another Snow and Unbomb promo and this one is a classic as it is the one where Snow makes fun of Gibson's mom. This HAS TO MAKE THE SET. EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA Ricky Morton v. Al Snow This is the match I already nominated from the Before They Were Famous disc though this does include the amusing post-match Snow interview and subsequent brawl. Unabomb/Al Snow v. Rock N Roll Express (Coal Miner's Glove) Snow is funny in this, bumping around wildly, taking breathers on fans laps, posing in the corner, et. This is heavily, heavily, clipped in the early going. Really cool rope running spot with Snow and Morton and Snow takes the first shot at the pole to get the glove only to get crotched. There are some really cool spots in this one involving, most of which play off the speed of the Express. Morton goes FIP after getting decked with a chair by Snow on the floor who then hits a flying leap. The segment with Morton/Snow on the floor seems to go on forever and the camera angle isn't great but the crowd goes crazy for it. Heels hit a really cool superplex/big splash/frog splash train for a nearfall that Snow abandons to make a beeline for the glove. Morton ends up in some weird gory special variation from Unabomb and gets out with a nut shot for a really good hopespot that the heels thwart. Boy the Morton heat segment is lengthy and good as the heels bring a ton of fun offense and Morton sells his ass off. Hot tag spot is a bit sloppy but still looks good and Gibson comes in with a fury. Morton and Unabomb end up in a race for the glove. Convoluted finish as Morton hits Snow with the glove but he falls on the already out cold Gibson for the win. What is shown here is really fucking great, but I'm not even sure this is half the match. Post-match is another good Snow interview. I pray to god this exists in full. At worst this should be an Extra. Unabomb v. Ricky Morton (Coal Miners Glove) This is just the finish with Snow running in after a ref bump and piledriving Ricky multiple times on top of a steel chair. Another possible Extra. Al Snow/Unabomb interview. This is a eulogy for Ricky Morton. Snow is talking like an evangelist and there is a coffin present. Snow is hilarious again as they bury a bunch of artifacts that remind him of Morton, including a piece of linigerie as Snow claims Morton was a closet tranny. Gibson interrupts and they beat him down and throw him in the coffin and nail it shut. Another MUST as an EXTRA. Al Snow/Unabomb interview. Snow calls Morton's gf a bag of yeast. She runs out and attacks Snow. Snow is hilarious hiding behind Thatcher while she comes after him. Yet another possible EXTRA. Unabomb/Al Snow v. Robert Gibson/George South Only finish shown. Heels try and spike Gibson with a piledriver and Morton's gf runs in and makes the save. Post-match interview with Snow talking more shit. Al Snow v. Ricky Morton (Cage Match) Unabomb and Robert Gibson are handcuffed to the ring. This is clipped but not in a way that really hampers the story of the match as you get all of the early stuff with Snow running from Morton, bumping for him, et. and then you get the turning point with Snow neckbreaking Morton who is wearing a neck brace. Second clipping is a lot worse as the next thing you get is Snow getting the knees on a frogsplash attempt. Snow badly whiffs on a blindside kick that Morton has to sell as they go straight to the teased piledriver spot. Curtis gets bumped and Morton ends up piledriving Snow. In one of my all time favorite angles the real Unabomb is under the ring and rips through the floor of the ring and he and Snow beat the shit out of Morton while holding the babyfaces at bay as they try and climb the cage. This has to be an EXTRA. I'm curious to see if this one exists in full as well. Al Snow interview about his scaffold match with Morton. Another really great promo. Snow really was great in SMW.
