Posted September 27, 201015 yr comment_5456308 First Show Taz Promo with Joey Styles in the ECW Arena. Lance Wright interrupts and announces he has a new WWF opponent for Taz who has broken his neck before and sure enough here comes "Flash Funk." Styles starts to announce him as "Flash Funk," but Scorp stops him and Styles announces him as "returning to the home team." Wright bitches so Scorp drops him and then almost kills him with a moonsault. Taz v. Too Cold Scorpio (House Party 98) Lots of cool shit in this and it was almost all Scorpio. Early mat looks tight due to Scorp tying Taz up like a pretzel. Scorp takes all the big bumps in this including getting tossed into the second row, a couple of head bumps off of Taz suplexes and a Flair Flop on the floor. Scorp takes a huge portion of this match offensively which is a good thing and a bad thing. It's a good thing because Scorp is one of my favorite offensive wrestlers ever. It's a bad thing because Taz selling is not very good. Here he is not terrible, but he does a bunch of awkward looking shit and I don't think his hope spots - if you want to call them that - looked good at all. Anyhow Scorp brings his moonsault, his powerbomb, a big splash, a flip legdrop and a 450 that Taz really buries as a legit finish as he just sort of stumbles back to his feet. Taz ends up winning with a Tazmission off of an attempted corner splash from Scorp. Post-match Doug Furnas and Brakkus run out and Scorp and Taz team up to clear the ring with Taz putting Scorp over on the mic afterward. As the Scorp show I think this was a good match, but I think it is fits better as a possible Extra than as a serious nomination. Bam Bam Bigelow v. Rob Van Dam (House Party 98) Don't think this made the SC top 100, but it should have and it is solid nomination for the set. Both guys are just bump freaks in this and RVD as bump freak is pretty much the only good RVD. Early Bigelow dominates with faceplanting bumps and powerbombs and chairshots on RVD. Then Bigelow does this really awesome rana counter off the guardrail and Bigelow takes a flip bump onto the guardrail and then a bump over the guardrail backwards off a kick. Then Van Dam vaults over the guardrail onto him. That whole sequence is great and followed up by a RVD dive that is really awesome as he sort of recklessly leaps with his whole body flailing like a little kid diving into the deep end for the first time. Then RVD hits Bigelow with a diving clothesline for another backward bump over the guardrail by Bigelow that leads to yet another great RVD dive. The Van Dam offensive section in the ring is really sloppy, but it culminates with him taking a huge cross ring bump off of a slingshot. Really loved the spot with RVD fighting off a suplex attempt, so Bammer just drops him on his head with a DDT. Bigelow takes a huge flip senton bump off the top to set up brief comeback, but Bam Bam just takes a chair and tosses it right into RVD's face at maximum velocity. Shitty botched Van Daminator ref bump spot that I forgive only because Van Dam follows up with his staple flying bump into the crowd. Candido runs in and gets Greetings From Asbury Park and then Tammy and Francine run in (Francine's dress actually falls off before she even gets in the ring). Van Dam steals win after Douglas distraction spot. This has a lot of silly shit, but it is one of Bammer's better ECW matches, and has some insane bumping. Second Show Paul E narrated video package on Shane Douglas injury Douglas in ring promo from the Golden Dome where he talks about how his doctors said he should retire, ends with him saying he is done listening to doctors and he will never retire with the ECW title around his waste. Doulgas video package narrated by Styles, interrupted by Bam Bam Bigelow who threatens to end Douglas career. Bigelow searches for a partner backstage. First interaction with FBI is amusing. Then he Bigelow encounters Al Snow and Head. Then Bigelow ask Taz to be his partner. Highlights from previous weeks Van Dam/Bam Bam match. Taz suckers Adam Flash offstage and takes his place against Big Dick Dudley. Taz destroys the Dudz. Clips of Taz v. Douglas from Wrestlepalooza 97 Al Snow v. Paul Diamond We may already have this on FanCam. Hard to tell because their matches are extremely similar. Actually I don't think so as I don't remember Chastity slapping Head in any other match and that was a pretty amusing spot. Pulp Fiction interview montage featuing the "Van Dam Lift", The Triple Threat, Bam Bam running around in the parking lot stopping Taz car to get him to be his partner. Al Snow music video
